Obd code P0172 help
Obd code P0172 help
Hello. I have a 2006 Ralliart.
To make the long story short it overheated, swapped quite a few parts but it's back up. Now, it's having an issue which is that when I stop (red light) the revs seem to be unstable, and if I have the AC on, most of the time the car feels like, or turns off.
A friend of mine plugged an Obd and we got code P0172 , "too rich".
This is my "going to work car". I dont race or anything, its an automatic and it's just for work/famoly trips, do you know its not been "abused of".
I will post a complete list of parts swapped if you need it.
Thanks in advance for all the help!

√ block cover screws
√ Piston rings
√ Piston Bearings
√ block cover (sorry if name's not right)
√ spark plugs
√ timing belt
√ Retainer
√ the other belt (sorry, not that car saavy)
√ block gasket
√ valve gaskets
√ o rings
√ intake gasket
√ oil and filter
√ Radiator
√ Water pump
Block cover got a bit bent so they "rectified/pressurized it".
Can works perfectly except for that issue at idle.

none of those parts are relevant to the issue. I thought you meant that you replaced some sensors to try to fix the problem.
so basically you ruined your motor, and now you're reusing all the old sensors after rebuilding the engine? did you get new plugs and injectors? P0172 is a fuel/emissions problem, and is more likely a sensor or valve. problem is that it could be any one of a variety of things.

After checking everything again we found something.
The small pipe that goes from the filter enclosure that has the MAF sensor was broken! Will be fixing it ASAP. Hopefully this is what's causing all this.
FYI: the engine overheated due to a faulty radiator. Most parts were changed just because we had the engine opened already, just so the car hopefully runs for a few more years.

Should i fix/swap the filter enclosure or get a cone filter? I was wondering if i had to mod anything (flash?) or if i can just cut the tube with the MAF and put the filter at the end of it.
