I really like the seats. They actually hold me in better than my RSX's seats.

I guess it just goes to show about different tastes, but I really like the seats and the transmission. It is noticably trickier to shift smoother than average, but it's sooo much more fun.

I don't have any real pet peeves with the car - I got it in no small part because I had no major issues with it. The turning radius is pretty annoying and probably the closest to a pet peeve as I have with the car. As far as other small but seemingly easy general improvements go some padding under the door armrests and rear air vents would be nice. And of course...

But you guys don't have front map lights I think all models should've come with both map and dome lights. As it stands I prefer just map lights to just a dome light.

I love the shifting for performance driving, but when I'm dressed nice and going to dinner or a movie, I don't need to blast from a light. I find the shifting ***** to the wall to be smooth (somewhat) or else its not smooth at all. 1st to 2nd is jerky as well as the take off. Tein Coilovers have added an extra level or harshness. My filled motor mount is coming out as soon as auto-x season is over. TOO much vibration. Other than that I love the car.

I don't think the driving is jerky at all. For me its the complete opposite and by far the most smooth manual car I have driven so far. The thing that ticks me off is our horrible steering wheel, the crap tires, boxy stock side view mirrors, minimal aftermarket parts (but thats starting to be short lived), and the poor paint job.

Performance wise its everything and more than I expected for a 20k car.

We need a trunk release button on the keyless entry remote.

i agree with having a light in the back...

-when i back out of my driveway in the morning, my brakes squeek really loud all the time... it stops after a while but its still loud
-the front headlights... i like the regular lancer heads... ours kinda looks like a pontiac/honda accord
-the air conditoner... if im really hot, and put it on level 3, it feels like its on level 1... it needs a little more oomph lol.
-how you cant keep your foglights on with the low beams.. that sucks!

For those of you who have no complaints about the shifting, have you noticed any differences between when the tranny is cold andthe tranny is warm?

When it's cold (after I park it overnight), when I put it into 1st and take off, it feels like the clutch is not grabbing and it kinda skips. Going from 1st to 2nd is also jerky.

But when the tranny is warm (like when I leave it in the sun), it is soooooooo smooth! All those problems disappear.

Tuffguy you know, I do kind of notice that. I think the car drives perfectly, except for when i'm in a hurry and go off from a cold start. It kind of slams out of first making a popping noise and i don't like it at all. What I do is make a really slow shift to second. Like I make sure that the clutch is all the way down and then I pull it out. Shifting can't be a thoughtless process from a cold start.

You do know that ash tray comes out in the rear.. you have to open it, and press down hard on the top metal thing that stops it from opening. Then pull it out the rest of the way.

I think he just means in general that it shouldnt be there. Its one of the dumbest places to put an ash tray anyways. People who smoke in the back seat wont want to have to lean all the way over near the floor just to put their cig butt.

That's what I was talking about. But from what I hear, it can be fixed by installing the RRM clutchline (removing the clutch restrictor) and solid underhood shifter bushings.

I'm gonna talk to my service manager when I take my car in for its first oil change in a few weeks to see if they'll do something about the restrictor, but I don't think they will. Won't hurt to try though. But if enough people complain about it, maybe they'll fix it on future models or cover it under warranty.

...and where did U get the carbon fiber cover? What's it look like? Is it just for the tray, or do you mean the entire center console?
