Drive 'em both. I don't think a factory sunroof is available for the RS. If I had to shell out the same money for either, I would get the RS. But since I got an 04 Ralliart in Feb. 05, for $15K, I can't complain. Also, look at the differences between the 05 and 06 Ralliart. Maybe a leftover 05 will look appealling visually and pricewise.

When I was looking into getting a new car I had the exact same thing, impreza or RA. Personaly I don't like the new styling of either 06 but the awd is a bonus., I know here when I looked into it the wrx was the same amount insuance as the RA. as for pro/cons. well they both have them but I like to do things right the first time, If I was gona get a impreza I would deffintly go for the wrx, and evo's arn't legal in canada so default to RA. some times I wish I had saved up another month or so to get the wrx, but over all I'm very happy with the RA. Just need more time for support/development on the 4g69 motor.

on a side note, 04 was the new body style for the impreza and I know there were some issues with it, I'm actully very surprised that they all ready change the body style again. I took a chance on getting the new body style for the RA but no problems as of yet, (execpt that rear tie bar issue in the cold)

Also, if you shop around, you could probably get a Ralliart for less than $18k OTD. Dunno if you can do the same with the Suby. An 05 Ralliart can be had for less than $17k OTD, brand new.

Also, the 06 Ralliart is identical to the 05, except for 2-3 aesthetic parts. Mechanicallhy, it's identical, so new model reliability issues aren't a factor.

That might be a consideration, then. Do you plan on doing all your own maintenence, or having the dealership do it? If you want the dealership to do it, that's another point for Scooby.

It's really a hard call. In another month I'll start to wonder if I should've gotten a Suby, then come March when it starts to warm up, I'll be o so very happy that I got the Ralliart Honestly, though, with snow tires, the Ralliart does awesome in the winter. I've had no problems at all, and I've plowed through 14" snow. It's rather fun.

I say Ralliart. It's a nimbler feeling, more comfortable (for me) car.

The Impreza feels real sluggish to me... probably drivetrain loss from the AWD.

The suby will hold its value better if you plan on reselling it later... The suby 2.5 was the other car on my list but i got my 04 for 16k and the suby was like 18.5k.... obvious choice

WRX is the only one worth having. Get the ralliart.

OMG I just saw the 06 Impreza. OMG They really f*cked up a sweet car.

Ralliart by a long shot. If it was an 05 subie then itd be a close tie.

Victory VW on Chambers Hill Road is also a Mitsu dealer. Don't know if they have any Ralliarts in stock though. If so, you can drive one there, and then go to Faulkner Subaru to try the RS. On a side note, I saw the new WRX in person. Really nice, especially with the 17" wheels stock, and the red painted calipers.

AWD is nice when you have the power to back it up. The 2.5 RS dosen't. The ralliart beats it in every side by side comparison I've read. I know, I did some research into the 2.5RS before I bought my car. So the AWD isn't doing you much good on a car that dosen't have the power. The WRX is another story. Ralliart is clearly better bang for the buck than the 2.5RS. If I had to do it over again, I would go Ralliart every time.

Cause if you get the 2.5RS, the first time you get your *** handed to you by a ralliart, you're going to regret it.

I think you should figure out what you want from the car first. Performance out of the box? Upgradeability? Show/Shine?

Maybe visit the Impreza site and do some research. http://www.i-club.com

That should help ya out.
