hard decision: Ralliart or Impreza

Should i get a 2006 Ralliart or 2006 Impreza??
Their price is about the same the Ralliart is $18,999msrp and the impreza is $18,295msrp
Their hp is also very close the Impreza with 173hp and the ralliart with 162hp
Thier engine size is also almost the same with the impreza having a 2.5L and the ralliart with the 2.4L.
The impreza has the slight advantage also because it has awd too
i really want a ralliart but the impreza is kinda changing my mind and also my dad wants me to get a suby because he has owned 3 of them in the past

Being a Ralliart owner, I would get the Subie. The Impreza won't be as fast as a Ralliart due to the AWD driveline sucking up the HP, and the suspension won't be as taut, but you can't argue with All Wheel Drive. How's the fuel mileage on the Subie? Is high test fuel required?

Looks like you're right around the corner, too.

I went through the same decision a bit over a year ago when I was looking for a car. Basically, it depends on how important AWD is to you. The Impreza has more HP at the crank, however, it also has more powertrain loss, so the Ralliart ends up being faster. Also, the 4G69 engine has a ton of potential, so if you're into modding, that's something to consider.

Thus far, the Ralliart has a pretty good track record, defects have been limited to only a few people.

Test drive them both. If you're more into power, and AWD isn't a necessity, I'd go with the Ralliart. If you feel that you need AWD, then the Suby wins.

Who are you dealing with over there. Jim Smee is a straight up salesman. I almost bought a WRX from him, but the insurance quote wasn't worth it to me.

Nope, couldn't be satified with a non-turbo impreza. Alot of the guys who get the 2.5, end up trading (soon) for a wrx or STi, because they feel there cheating themselves

OTD on a o6 ralliart should be cheaper than the o6 impreza, no?

Im about too, why? Only thing the 2.5 has over the ralliart is AWD. Not fun unless a turbo is under the hood.

If it's not turbo, go for the RalliArt.

Both great cars, but I would go with Subie. My dad has a WRX and I would say the AWD is probably worth it. Do you know how the curb weight compares? I imagine the Impreza has a good couple hundred pounds more than the RA. If you live in wet weather/snow and like really good traction and cornerning, get the Subie. If you're into really quick acceleration, low-end torque, and good handling (some understeer stock) and you live in a drier area, consider the Mitsu. Up to you man, either way you sure won't lose. Let us know how everything goes, especially if you get the Subaru.

I personally would go with the Ralliart cause they messed up the new Impreza. The front end is ugly. That is just me though. Just pick the one you think is better for the price. Like you said they are almost the same except for the awd. So basically pick the one that best fits you...
