Yeah, I say go with the manual RA its worth it, fun to drive and great on corners, even my wife likes driving it, its a good choice and if you want to mod it there are companys like RRM who make stuff specifically for our car, and thats awsome.

The only butt I see is the new Civic... man that thing is butt-ugly!!! Honda stopped offering competitive products long ago... nowadays it's like they ask you to pay a premium just to drive a car that sports the Honda/Acura emblem.

My last car was a brand new '99 Integra... but since then, Honda has gone from good value to expensive crap. The last Civic handled like crap (even after thay changed the rear suspension as much as they could) and the RS-X is laughauble as far as value is concerned. Maybe some EVO owners on here (whose name I will keep to myself) didn't drive a budget car lately and are still under the impression that Honda is king of the hill.

I'm not saying only Mitsubishi makes interesting cars... but right now it's the best value for the money. Step out of your EVO for a day and go drive 5 cars in this price range (17,000$US / 21,000$CAN) and then tell me which one is the best... then we can talk. I did the exact same thing last year... guess what I bought?

soely on your bases...

1. Honda offers a 5year, 60k miles warranty. Mitsu offers a 10year, 100k miles warranty.
2. Depends on the model... anything higher than the civic... than yes.
3. Why are you comparing all of honda to just the ralliart? That's pretty stupid. To be equally, compare to mitsubishi... or compare the civic to the ralliart.
4. Read #3.
5. SpecV has more HP/TRQ and LSD... and it's equally to the ralliart that has neither. STi has 300HP/TRQ and DCCD and VVT over the evo, but the evo is better overall. The o6 Si will be good... but lets no hype yet, wait till it hits the market first.

yea i was gonna bring that up, the civic SI, lancer still has more TRQ though but how much is it? probably more than the ralliart. You know, i went to the mitsubishi dealer and all the ralliart was sold out, just had the OZ rally, i didnt touch that since its a 2.0L and not a 2.4L like the ralliart.

If i drive an Auto, u think it's still alrite around the corners???? i just really want to cruise in my car. man........i am sooooo scared of driving in traffic with a manual.....

The automatic has the same suspension as the manual so It shouldn't be different in the corners. Well, if you factor out that you can't heeltoe in an automatic so you have less control over the car overall, but the suspension is the same.

Lemme ask you a question. I'm from MD so I'm familiar with the DC Metro area. How long are you stuck in traffic every day? Please describe your commute.

The Honda site doesn't list a price for the (butt-ugly) Civic SI yet... but the 2006 EX is listed at 18,000$! Ouch... imagine how much they'll be asking for the SI!!!

As I said earlier, Honda are now way off as far as value is concerned... and I think you'll see more and more buyers look at other brands with better value.

Honda is in for a rough ride in the coming years... a bit like the domestic brands in the last 15 years. The cost cutting measures that where part of the revitalization plan at Mitsubishi will make them a contender in a market that will otherwise see Korean makers (and soon Chinese brands too) at the top of the value list.

Take Kia for example, it's gone from producing cheap cars to overtaking Honda and Toyota in consumer satisfaction, press ratings and overall value and build quality. I'm not saying they're exiting cars to drive... they're not aimed at the same crowd at all. But it's just an example of the coming trend in the automotive business... and I'm afraid that most Japanese brands are not on the right side of the fence. The production costs are way higher in Japan, but japanese makers could always count on higher quality/value to keep them ahead of the game. Now that other asian countries have upped their game up to par with the japanese as far as quality is concerned, the power as shifted in favor of these brands.

But keep the idiotic "buy a Honda" or "buy an EVO" comments pouring in... we like a good laugh from time to time (and lately, some EVO owners have done a good job at keeping us entertained).

I have a manuel and driving in a little traffic is not that bad, but if you are in bumper to bumper stuff then i would say just get the automatic. The only reason i got the manuel was because i wanted the sporty feel from my car and i didnt think i would like the car as much if it were automatic. But if your just want a good car to cruise and have to sit in stop and go traffic everyday then get the auto.

co-sign.

Also look at hyundai. Oh man, have the step up there game aswell. The new sonata is remarkable. Every year hyundia has been inching foward and foward and now hey got the other companies caught sleeping. Ive seen a few on the road and they look dam good. The interior is soo upscale and beautiful and room, oh the room... plenty for your family. Right now, magazine have rated the sonata higher in value, fit and finish than the toyota camry, honda accord and the nissan altima. Also the sonata was rated higher in safety aswell compare to the other cars. Amazing for the once look over korean manufactor.

Note that Hyundai and Kia are now one company... thus the Accent and the Rio are the same car, only packaged differently. This is also a big factor in taking over the market: Mass economy.

Also note that Mitsubishi and Hyundai will be sharing (Mitsubishi-designed) engines on some of their next models. That's another of the reasons that makes me include Mitsubishi as one of the most dynamic car company of the next couple of years. This company has seen the worst, but will come out stonger, armed with world renowned japanese engineering, reduced production costs, higher quality control and strong partnerships and OEM production contracts. Don't forget Mitsubishi is now producing cars for Peugeot, has an independant subsidiary in China and is also into a supply deal with another major company in Europe... I just can't recall which one right now.

Careful not to dog the OZ Rally. My wife loves her OZ, and it has some scoot for a little 2.0 automatic, but it's shamed by the Ralliart.

Ralliart also comes with better body accents, better seats, better rims, better brakes, better motor, better suspension, ect...

I live in Fairfax, VA and every friday i go down 66 and onto 495 all the way up to democravy blvd, and then from tehre, i go to wheaton to avoid all that other traffic on 495 going to baltimore. one time, it was a 3 hour ride when i didnt take 270 to go to democracy....there's this yellow OZ-rally on the same street where my girl lives (brunswick ave, if u are familiar).......its fricken sweet.....
