Thinking about getting a Lancer

My last car was a brand new '99 Integra... but since then, Honda has gone from good value to expensive crap. The last Civic handled like crap (even after thay changed the rear suspension as much as they could) and the RS-X is laughauble as far as value is concerned. Maybe some EVO owners on here (whose name I will keep to myself) didn't drive a budget car lately and are still under the impression that Honda is king of the hill.
I'm not saying only Mitsubishi makes interesting cars... but right now it's the best value for the money. Step out of your EVO for a day and go drive 5 cars in this price range (17,000$US / 21,000$CAN) and then tell me which one is the best... then we can talk. I did the exact same thing last year... guess what I bought?

Im not even gonna do into fit and finish, mitsubishis plain suck at it. Also my honda dealership was 30x better than any mitsubishi dealership ive gone to. Like i said honda is more about all aroundness than just high horse power or just luxury. Which the thread starter is looking for. Also i know you didnt mention my name but ive done my fair share of "budget" car shopping recently.
what car do u own now ?

3. Why are you comparing all of honda to just the ralliart? That's pretty stupid. To be equally, compare to mitsubishi... or compare the civic to the ralliart.
4. Read #3.
5. SpecV has more HP/TRQ and LSD... and it's equally to the ralliart that has neither. STi has 300HP/TRQ and DCCD and VVT over the evo, but the evo is better overall. The o6 Si will be good... but lets no hype yet, wait till it hits the market first.

2. even the civic, go sit in a new 1.
3. because every single honda model has a good aftermarket following and mitsubishi really doesnt besides the Evos/Eclipes. Even the US accord which japan doesnt even get has more aftermarket stuff than the Ralliart which is named after mitsubishi's racing dept.
4. you reread #3
5. IMO i think the SpecV is just a tad bit better as a whole car than the Ralliart. I wouldnt say that the Evo is overall better than the STI, but ill say subaru is a better company than mitsubishi is.
I just dont like how mitsubishi is a company and just every single dealership ive been to pretty much sucks or is just straight ghetto. I lived on both East and West coast and yet to find a mitsubishi dealership i wanna take my car to. Mitsubishi is last in everything in the market in Japan and right now, theyre pretty much a joke since toyota took over the truck market.

Happy car shopping man, just make sure you check/test drive all the cars in the market. when it comes down to it, the car is for you and what you like some might not and vis versa.

Oh and yeah, I feel your pain being forced to drive a (Mitsubishi) EVO. You might as well go jump off a bridge... life is cruel... [a tears runs from the corner of the eye]
...

PS: Before jumping, please sing the papers and give the car to someone who knows what it is...

Look ull be driving in traffic most of the time, so the ralliart gets good gas mileage. if ur gettin the evo, then ur lookin for a more sportier edge and obviously ull push the car. It all depends what u want. But from the looks of it u want an auto and ralliart. I have one and its great. No problems for 1.5 yrs+ with 8k miles on it. Just gotta treat it right. Though im gettin the evolution cause im a speed freak and it looks too god damn sexy

well i share my insurance on my dad. Im like the secondary driver, he still pays alot though. The insurance is a ***** though cause i live in NYC ( the worst drivers are located here and accidents... sighs i wont get more into that). All i can say its alot.
All together my ralliart wit the S&S package at 20.5k. Though u can go lower wit the base lancers and save more money and lil more on gas.
though the ralliart, when u wanna push it. It responds well, and it can keep up or beat wit most of the cars ( well u wouldnt be able to take a Evo or high powered cars obviously lol) on the road.

Well, my insurance dropped 40% when I switched from the Integra to the RA. Remember, it has 4 doors...

Did you drive it yet? I still get a blast each time I do... so I'm sure it's gonna make the draft.
