Stock Ralliart VS Modded TC

well, on Dec. 30th, the guam dragstrip is holding an end of the year event for free grudge racing. me and my buddy in his tC have decided to finally settle our little grudge then on the track on camera. i'm still bone stock and he is modded with Injen CAI, Megan Racing Header, and Injen Exhaust. He also has an S-pipe (downpipe for the tC) on order but we don't know if he'll get that in time for the big race. we have a big discussion about it on the local forum. here is the link for anyone that wishes to keep an eye on it: http://www.forum.dragguam.com/viewtopic.php?t=5561

i'll also post the result of the race and the vid after the 30th. prob. on the 31st or the 1st. should be a good one. i'm curious to know what you guys think will happen. so post your ideas.

You shouldn't have a problem. I have raced a few of them. One with intake and exhaust and I have never lost. Give him hell and good luck.

Sorry bro, but you'll lose. I/E is nothing for a tC, but a header makes good gains. Since your still bonestock and he has I/H/E he'll get you. If he does get the "S" pipe... you'll get beat bad.

wow, i didn't think that he would have that much of an edge. how much is bad? and would i get beat worse if we just went from a roll?

i'm going to assume that ralli04art is agreeing with you. so that makes it 2 votes for the tc and 1 vote for the RA. that means right now i'm the "underdog"! i like being the "underdog"! that means everyone gets to be impressed with the results! keep the thoughts coming!!!

here are some dyno numbers from a new import tuner magazine about a scion tc...

stock whp - 140.5whp 149.4 tq

with exhaust - 144 whp 151.8 tq

with exhaust and injen CAI - 147.3 whp and 153.7 tq

with exhaust, CAI, and alpha workz header - 154.6 whp 157.3 tq

HP peaks at about 5900-6000 hp and dyes down very slowly to its 6500 redline

heres what i think.... a stock ralliart will lose, but if you got the downpipe and CAI for the RA it would be close, or ralliart pulling away with a close victory... im sure other factors play a part, such as driver skills, weight, and how crisp the tc shifts and rides (never drove in one) but just lookin at numbers, he may get you...

good luck though

Around here stock tc's run in the 16's i have seen some modded ones with Intake and full exhaust running about the same times as stocks RA. I go with a drivers race with a little edge to the RA. But down the middle it will be a drivers race.

TC has basically the same stock hp that the RA does difference is that the RA weights a bit less. If he didn't have those mods you could beat him (i've beaten TCs when i was stock) , but with I/H/E and you on a stock RA i don't think you can.

ok, so now it's tC with 4 votes and the RA with 2 votes. man, no credit for your own car. lol. just to let you know, he doesn't have the alphawerks header and that one gives a whole lot more than his Megan header. Megan header is a cheaper design and gives about half the power. it doesn't even look like a great design. anyways, yea, i beat up on stock and modded tc's all the time. hell, i beat up on stock and modded spec-v's all the time. lol. i've evan beat an rsx. anyways, i've raced him from a roll but i won't tell the outcome, we'll let the vid at the dragstrip do the talkin.

what's the weight of a tc vs a ralliart?

With only a 10hp difference it's really going to come down to driver ability I think. Unless the TC is far lighter than the Ralliart.

Its not that i don't give credit to the RA , I love my RA and I've beaten some cars i thought i wouldn't be able to with it. I don't know the kind of header he has (no matter the design he has i guess its still better than stock , right?) but with the I/E and the vvt-i (which is similar to mivec) and you running stock i'll give the advantage to the TC. But like i said the TC is a bit heavier and if you claim that you've beaten modded TCs before , then by all means prove me wrong.
