Lol, as a Ralliart owner I can honestly say we already feel that 1mm crack.

Thanks for all the very valid points. I'm still leaning heavily towards the IX, it's really going to depend on exactly how much of the money I come in to. If I can buy the MR cash, it'll be a definite thing. Even with it's 130 a month higher price tag for insurance, it will still be worth it.

I would definetly go with the IX , and as far as whp for the RA is concerned theres a 500 whp RA in PR , so big power can be accomplished.

Thter are a few questions you have to ask yourself. Are you going to mod the evo 9 and possibly void the warranty? Will the evo 9 take all of that money you are going to get? Can you afford the higher insurance? If you are going to mod the evo and lose the warranty I would just turbo the RA, put the rest of the money in the bank, myself being 30 married and with a kid you can't have to much saved up. If you are going to leave the evo close to stock I would say take the evo. If you look at it a LSD, turbo, and clutch from RRM installed would be 10-12K. If you got 36 grand that would leave 20k down for a house, or at least 20k for a really nice garage on your house.

Consider the insurance costs of both. You might be surprised at how BIG of a difference it could be.

ill have to agree with ralliartjapracr^^^^^^^

if your going to fall in to all this money and was going to spend mad dough hookin your ride in the first place. then keep the ralliart finnesh what you started, spank a few evos, and prove to youself why the ralliart was your first choice!

Everyone and their mama's buy EVO's, why its cheap and its one of the fastest off the lot street cars under $40K. Anyone buying an EVO will always think they can out drive the world. Why not? it's a good platform. Why i chose a Ralliart? Import Tuning started because they would get a car that was a mom and pop car and transform it into a car to be dealt with. All of a sudden V-8's wasn't worth a damn because 4 cylinders were out performing V8's. I am going to enjoy turbo charging a car that was not turbo'ed off the lot. I'm going to enjoy people taking a 2nd look at my car after I just handed them their @ss. In the twisties yes a better tuned car can always win on the corners, but a #hitty driver vs. an experienced driver that knows what they are doing I will take the experienced RA driver over the newbie Evo driver every single time. The Ralliart has a lot of potential to be unlocked. Once unlocked its going to be amazing how a 2.4 liter SOHC engine outperforms a lot of cars. Me personally I'd rather drop 20K on a house then drop 30K on a car which one day will be traded in.......that's my thoughts anyways......

amen to that

Well, like they have stated on some other post, EVO is not a cheap car to maintain....u have to think about that, and insurance 2.

I used to have a 2k Civic SI a few years ago....and people try to race with me everyday, something that doesnt happend anymore since i got the EVO....i dont if people are scared of this car or what, but i barely race my car...not that i am looking forward to race, casue i dont do that, but i am just saying, the respect and street credit of the EVO is there and is more than i thought....a turbo sleeper RA will be a blast to race duh!

Theres a Dark Gray Turbo RA where i am from (PR) and i am sure i have seen this guy on the forums, and let me tell you, i have seen this car on the track and is very reliable.

Cool

i cant comment on an RA, but i can tell you-based upon what it sounds like what you want to do-that you will be happier with the MR or GSR for that matter. you are going to have to spend quite a bit of money to get the RA to the point the e9 already is at from the factory. as far as reliablility goes. well that is another issue-with both cars. the 4g63 platform has been tremendously reliable and now with the MIVEC, the simple BPU-basic power upgrades-are responding reeeeeaaalllly well. and all this is done with FACTORY CAMS, BOOST, AND AIRFILTER!!! so very little is going to be needed to mod safely.

how much is it to turbo your RA?? are there going to be fitment issues?? reliablity?? availablility?? longevity of parts?? are the companies going to be making those parts for a long time to test durablility??

the EVO platform is already done for you if you look at it in comparison to the RA. suspension-done, turbo-done, power-done, etc. if this is going to be a everyday street car you will use everyday, then go for it. you wont be dissappointed. if you get your money, go for it. if you dont like it, sell it and go back to your other project-RA. you cant lose. so drink up
