I guess you haven't seen with the guys in PR have done with the ralliart, try 8,000 - 10,000rpms on the 4G69.

Well unless PR becomes the 51st state who the hell cares what they are doing down there...it aint here, let them have fun on their island. I have to agree on one thing tho the maintance on the EVO sucks. Its all about what that person wants, not everyone can afford an Evo (i am barley getting by)...he wanted an RA more power to him.

Well I have a simple solution get a used MR and with the extra money get a turbo for your Ralliart, then you tell us what you prefer. Really it boils down to what you prefer.

My friend has the MR, very nice car... but keeping up with him in my Turbo RA is funny. You can just see the frustration in his face. lol....

my Car saYs RA not MR lol..........
Yes, I know you have a RA, I wasn't attacking you.

From what I heard, Turbo Tech P.R. car isn't revving in the 8k-10k range. The ralliart has potential, it just depends how deep are your pockets.

They are home to the most powerful ralliart in the world and have done things to the 4G69 that other continents haven't done yet, so some of us take focus on that because we share the same engine. Now, If we take your philosophy into account, than we should not remember or focus on what japan or europe has done to our cars since there not part of the US,

When I meant "our" I mean mitsubishi as in a whole, not just the ralliart... that's why I mention japan and uk. Here is where you miss the boat, this is ralliart general, were we as ralliart owners stay focus on our car, I would not expect you to care about a 500+whp ralliart when you drive an evo. I really don't understand what is your defense to the 500+whp ralliart is, I didn't mention it to spite or upheave the evo from it's plateau, it was mention because some of us ralliart owners look to it as a stepping stone to what the 4G69 can do.

Yes, I know the evo has gone beyond that, what's your point? Did you even read my first post in this thread? Your acting like I told him to turbo the ralliart,

i never put down the ralliart...i dont care if this is evo general or ralliart general...this is EVOLUTIONM FORUMS,the guy wanted advice on getting a Evo or keeping his RA so i decided to give my opinion if u look at the start of this thread u will see that . Somehow it got on the topic of the 500whp ralliart because some other evo guy said something. Like i said before 500whp ralliart is awesome...and no i dont think the evo is the god or all cars.

Nez, dude..

let the man give his opinion. if you dont agree .. just say you dont agree. dont call him unethical or biased or whatever. youll just start a fight, unless thats what you are looking for, just say what you disagree with and get out.

sorry if that sounded rude, wasnt meant to be. just had to keep it simple
dont bother replying, cause im not gonna read it

--------------------------

anyway, as for the choice in cars.

go for the evo for obvious reasons.

but if you want a challenge and originality, turbo that RA and sink some cash into machining some parts for the rest of us!

Hehehheh good one but I meant the Engines in this case
I guess you are unsure about your size and ability if you think that way in an Automotive Forum

However, I will ask the thread starter this. What is your purpose for this car? JUST a daily driver for fun? Show's? Track/Auto cross? How much do you want to put into the Evo IF you buy it?

Answer these questions and your answer will be a little clearer. For example...if your going to take it to the track for racing then find out if there are any HP limitations or if the class your in matters as to your number of drive wheels.

If your doing show's then stay with the RRM tricked RA (turbo, bodykit, stereo...) and you'll be different and still way under your budget.

Either way...you get the idea. People here need to realize theres WAY more to buying a car then just HP numbers and how much you can squeeze out of an engine.
Well, first allow me to thank everyone for their comments and input, and thanks for staying on topic for the most part. The sum on money should be enough to buy the evo or turbo the RA and put a healthy downpayment on a house so I'm not too concerned about saving 'what's left'.

My goal for whatever I do is to have a very reliable daily driver that doesn't require long weekends just tuning, but if the ricer in his little civic pulls up to me, I want to be able to hand him his *** and show him that DSM doesn't suck as much as he tells all of his friends. If I get the Evo, how much I put into it will depend on how much I have to put into it, right off the bat probably not much. Just a few things to tweak the factory output. I'd also like to start autoX, but from what I've seen, both cars have the potential to be quite formidable. Unfortunately I've never autocrossed before so I couldn't tell you how the ralliart is at it or if I'd even be interested in doing it a second time.

This really isn't a question of HP vs HP or car vs car, so you guys can stop all the arguing about RA vs Evo. They are both really really awesome cars and the community as a whole could benefit more from us sharing our knowledge than arguing and bickering.

Bottom line, I live to drive. Not the silly '1/4 mile at a time' type living... I wake up in the morning and look forward to the hour drive to work because it's spent in my car, driving. Even when traffic is bad, I smile at the thought of just idling down the highway. I drive to all the metal shows that my friends and I go to. I drive us from bar to bar whenever we go out. I take my car out at 3 in the morning just to roll down the windows, open the sunroof and haul *** down the local roads and interstate.

Everyone is saying maintenance on the Evo is really high. What exactly is expensive about it and how expensive? I checked into insurance rates as well, 530/month for the evo. Paying 430/month for the RA so no big deal. I'll have no more car note so 100 a month isn't an issue.
