Another option is BG Synchroshift. It's designed for GL-4 transmissions and works wonderfully in Mitsu trannies. I've been running the synthetic version for over 30k miles now, and the transmission still shifts like new. Read around the internet about it, nothing but positive information on it.

Is there a really significant improvement in the gear changes otter? I know it keeps it smoother than stock but can you shift faster with it? I really dont' know since my Laser was reassembled w/ synchroshift. The motor was dead before that so I obviously couldn't tell a difference before and after but I did occasionally grind 2nd if I was on it hard. Come to think of it, it did change gears smoother than the RA, I figured it was just naturally notchy (the RA).

Shifts do smooth up. However, as mentioned before, the only thing that's going to solve the 1-2 hard shift gear grind is upgraded mounts or a dampener.

ok, I understand that they smooth up, and I hope I am not being dumb since I have never tried anything but what was already in the transmission but exactly what does it make smoother? Is it the engagement, or the movement between gears that is smoother?
