Well, I don't think it is a good idea to take out a loan for 10K to do mods on *any* car, especially if you are still paying on the car.

If you are taking out loans to pay for the mods that's double bad, but it's you're money, so good luck.

Frankly, I'd spend the 10k to move out of central Indiana and leave the car as is. And i'm actually being serious.

I have the money to do the mods, I just want the credit history =)

Car is "paid off" making payments to a relative... I went and got the loan, then relative got a loan at a better rate and paid it off.

Basically I want to carry a loan in my name for a while for credit purposes. And if I'm gonna get a loan for credit - I might as well get something I want while I'm at it!

Give me a nice discount and you'll get a nice big rear window banner (where everybody will be seeing the car from... the back)!!! /snicker

I'll even be so nice to send you video of the car at the track! /snicker

I would be dropping about 8.2k all at once =)

A loan like that with no real collateral is going to have a crappy rate, especially if you don't have the best of credit to begin with. That is, even if it is possible to get it. Just save up and do it piece by piece.

I already looked into it - I can get a decent rate. My credit is not horrible (in the 650ish range) just my credit history is short with my age, by the time I wil lbe taking out the loan I will have right at near 2-1/2 years credit history.
