Shift Points

Hey guys, I have been driving my car lately, and I was just wondering what do ya'll use for your shift points, both around town, and at the track, as in the shift points that offered you your fastest time? I generally shift between 2500 and 3500 around town, and when really gunning it, i go up to 6k, then shift and keep it up to 6k up to the rest of the gears. I was just wondering what the best shift points you guys have found for your cars are.

Putting around town I just stay below 3500. When going for speed, I shift out of first at 6500, then each gear after I change at around 6300.

At the track i shift at 6500, around town I try to shift below 3500 so I stay out of Mivec and get better mileage.

wish i can stay out of mivec but this is one of the slowest cars i have owned, so i usually aways shift after mivec, plus to me driving anytime is fun. i tried staying under mivec for one tank to see the diff in gas and went crazy.

"i've heard " that around 85 or 90 is fun on the highway. doesn't take much effort at all to keep it there, and still has pull if you need to go faster. Of course, I would never drive that fast on the highway and don't recommend it.

I try to aim at 6700 for a power shift. It seems like if you climb to about 6900 you don't get as much power out of it for the next gear.

Does that sound like it makes sense or am I just silly?

With a 5 speed you have to be at like 4.5k+ rpm going 85-90, i wish we had a sixth gear.
