Oh thanks for the advise, I already took out my passenger seat.. it doesnt look to difficult to get the $42.72 replacement oxygen sensor. but what are the chances of it actually being the corrent thread pattern? I cant return it, and i just wanna make sure it will actually screw in.

The thread pattern should be the same, it's a pretty universal thread. It's the number of wires you need to get right (2- 3- or 4-wire, you want the 4-wire), and then which wire goes where in the plug.

Also, secondhand information tells me it's sometimes difficult to solder to the silicone-jacketed wires that it is likely to have. If you have trouble getting solder to stick (if you solder your wires instead of crimp), wipe the stripped ends down with an alcohol pad, then put a little flux on 'em. Try to keep the splice inside the car, where it won't be exposed to the weather.

It should come with a diagram of the wiring for the sensor, telling you which wire is what. If you need the diagram for the wiring of the car to match up the wires, hit me up via PM and I'll send you a link to the diagram.

I've had trouble figuring out our O2 sensors and never got around to solving the issue. Outside of the OEM (Bosch) sensor that costs over $200, I haven't figured out what fits, other than taking an universal sensor and splicing it in. Different websites point at different sensors with different connectors. Someone has to pull the stock sensor and look at the connector and go from there.

the dealership wants +$300 for a new one. i just put my catback on and in the process i phucked up the o2 sensor. right now, i'm using an universal one that my friend gave me but i don't think i spliced the wires correctly and now the cel light is on. i might just go ahead and get one of those walker ones. arent all o2 sensors pretty much the same except for the length of the wire and harnesses?

Hey guys,

On my Girl's OZ Rally I put a plug&play one in the front (bosch) and a bosch w/o a connector after the cat. I reused the old plug. It wasn't very hard to splice and the wires were the same color. Just cut it so you give yourself enough room and use 16gauge crimp connectors, you'll be up and running for ~$75.

Minor differences between some, but yeah, pretty much all the same. When you splice it in, do it with a good soldering job.

It was kinda a figure of speech. It's under the seat under the car. You need to definitely be under the car as it's on the exhaust piping behind the cat.
