Yep, I have an auto. I'm glad that you like the damper because it makes a pretty big difference. You should try taking it off for a little bit to see how much of a difference it really makes.

Other than that, I really enjoy my auto because the look on people's faces when I pull on them and then hear it shift by itself is just priceless. With the mods I have I pull on my friend's stock 5-speed RA with ease. I got mine because it was the last RA on the lot, I was tired of driving in rush hour traffic for 3 hours a day with shifting, and the most important one my wife told me to get an auto so that she could drive it if she needed too.

If a car is fast it's fast regardless of auto or stick, there are always mods to make it as fast if not faster.

1 second loss? Phhh, screw that if my car is 2 seconds faster than yours I'll take it.

Well, not to be a party pooper but I prefer stick in this type of automobile. The ralliarts shifter and clutch are so sweet, its a joy to control the vehicle in just the right manner.. Do I grit my teeth when I am in traffic.. kind of.. but then again I have been driving stick for 22 years and so its just a matter of knowing what gear you should be in and knowing your cars sweet spot.. I can definitly see the allure of an automatic but honestly, there has only been one automatic that pleased me. Most of them shift when I don't want them too. I also have a problem with the car controlling me.. I DRIVE the car, not the other way around... Just my opinion.. so please dont flame me... It just seems like we care becoming a brain dead society where we do not want to take responsibility for anything, not even driving anymore.

Another interesting thing is that the dealers will all tell you that an automatic Ralliart has a higher trade in but look whats always sitting on the lot month after month..

OK, plain and simple. This is not a manual vs. automatic thread. We are all talking about why we chose an auto over a manual, not why an auto may or may not be better then a manual. You're asking to be flamed.

I hear ya' and to tell you the truth I was a little bored in rush hour traffic because I was so used to shifting a 6-speed and then jumped into the auto. Now I'm used to it and I like it a lot more for that kind of driving.

Also, yes the auto is a little slower than the 5-speed but can you honestly tell me that you shift your car as consistent as the auto does. I can honestly tell you that I've never missed a shift in my auto!!

Sure if you only drive in a straight line... MT can drop into any lower gear you need before a corner.

Better on go-juice too but who cares about that these days.

Let's see, I pulled half a car length on it when I had the pulley, Injen CAI, and a custom Volt cat back for performance mods. I've also ran with a former owner that used to be on these boards and he had a lot more mods than me on his 5-speed and I had no problem keeping up.

Now I have the RPW header/dp and high-flow cat set up and I pull the stock 5-speed really easy. I also have the Zaklee damper which helps keep the power on the ground around corners and on take offs.

I wish there were some RAs in my area i could compare too. but im the only one, and b/c of that everyone thinks my car is a 2.0L like other lancers then race and think i dumped a few grand into performance bc i killed them. And no one takes me seriously when i say im an auto until i beat them.

I hear that. I've debadged my trunk except for the emblem. Some people think I've done a lot of work to mine too and soil themselves when I tell them the few things that I've done. It's great fun.

I can deffiantly attest to that statement right there. I have an Automatic myself and the car was still on the lot when I bought it back in july of 04 when the 05's were getting ready to come out. My car was the only RA left on the lot and like stated pervious, it is an automatic.
