Seafoam and the Sportback

I've used Seafoam on all of my vehicles. Some smoke, some barely. I decided to do my Sportback yesterday, but I figured with only 20k on the clock, it wouldn't be much. Was I wrong! I thought my neighbors were going to call the Fire Department! And it smoked for awhile too. I may do another dose this evening and see if theres any more carbon in there. to Seafoam!

The bottle says every 2 -5K miles, but I usually do it every 15K miles. It will not harm your engine as long as you follow the directions. 1/3 bottle through a vacuum line or PVC valve, a 1/3 in the crankcase and a 1/3 in the gas tank. Drive it hard till it stops smoking, and then change your oil.

Its good stuff... We use a commercial product that is very similar here at work for cars with a rough idle, or when they aren't running too smoothly after a tuneup...

Make sure to clean the throttle body as well....

Another easy way to prevent carbon deposits is simply to not run crappy gas, change your oil regularly and get on the throttle often.

Well, I just bought it used w/ 19K on the clock, so I have no idea how the previous owner drove it. I can say the car is real clean and most of the rubber is left on the Bridgestones RE92s, so it was not driven hard at all.

Seems early to be using Seafoam, but I still swear by the stuff. Have used it on past cars (100K+ miles) and the stuff works wonders.

That was my though too. But, I've used it twice already and you would have sworn I was 007 with a smoke screen. There must have been quite a buildup of carbon
