'05 seats vs the '06 and pedals question..

Which do you like better?

I think the '05s were firmer and I sat lower?

DO you think the seats would interchange? I wouldn't think so due to the new sensors for the airbags..

What about changing the fabric to the '04-'05 style?

Anyone?

Also, I can't remember, do the'05's have the metal stuff ofn the pedals? Im not crazy about it as it makes my foot feel slippery.. Can you take them off of the pedals?

Thanks for helping out.. its appreciated

If you really want to change the seats to the '04 - '05 version just buy the ones that have airbags in them. They came as an option with the S&S package.

Yes they do.. But they do not have the advanced senors to detect weight in them.

If you dont like the new fabric pattern, change it. It's less expensive than byuing the old seats, and you would keep the new airbag sensor. The driver side seat has a big knob that adjust height (partially).

No the 04-05 don't have aluminum pedals (at least not that i know). The aluminum pedals should have rubber inserts to prevent slippage. I was just yesterday in the dealer and test drove an 06 and i felt bassically no difference, in the seats, mechanically or in any other aspect for that matter. Only differences that i noticed were:

Front Bumper
Steering wheel
Seats Fabric
Carbon fiber part in the dash
Location of tha hazzard flashers and the adition of pax airbag light

Besides those things, is bassically the same car

Also the 04 Sportback Ralliart got the seat airbag system...with no S&S available on that model!

Went to the local Mitsu dealer and compared seat fabric from an '05 to an '06. i definitley like the '05 black and red checked pattern. its a different fabric and for me its much more comfortable.

So I went to the parts department and its 1800.00 for front and rear seat material. I just may do it..

Anyone know of a dealer that offers serious discounts? These guys are giving me a 20% discount

1800 just to get the old fabric?? i.e. the covers?

That's insane, you could probably find whole new seats, well used, from a junkyard or ebay or whatever for a few hundred.

There's more then one RA I've seen on here that was bought brand new, and quickly had the front seats replaced with racing seats, and the rear removed for weight.
