Projector Questions
ok, i've been doing a little research as i am quite interested in getting the projector headlights. i know there are alot of threads about them but none have totally answered all my questions. many of u guys got the h1/h7 ones and converted to hid. all u have to do is get a h7 hid kit and thats it right? is there any other modifications involved because i emailed several of the ebay vendors and they all said that they are not hid compatible??? what if i dont go hid- are the sylvania white bulbs good enough for them?

otter, you're so godd@mn smart when it comes to lancers. u know everything there is to know...
so there is no extra modification and it will work fine just that there might be some glare right? i don't think that should be too big of a problem especially since a few guys have already converted and mentioned there was no glare. is the light output from the projectors without hid actually better than our oem reflectors?

i've heard the issue with using non-compatible HID projectors is that the HID bulb does not sit correctly and gets too close to the lens (aside from glare and legal issues). I've heard this can cause things to melt.
i have seen several halogen projector cars equipped with HID and glare is mostly minimal or non-existent. never put HID in stock housing

sam i already told you man,
i have h7 housing hid friendly projectors from taiwan, most of these projectors on ebay now are not HID FRIENDLY and i would not recommend putting a hid coversion kit into non hid friendly projectors. my projectors DO NOT GLARE.
I would of not installed my conversion kit into non hid friendly projectors.
try to get ahold of evolutionnightz on ebay, he was the only one selling the hid friendly projectors, but sold out along time ago.

my bad i think his name is nightzevolution, it's something like that and yes i don't know of any other projectors that were hid friendly. they were also a #$@#% to install, I had to re-wire everything backwards for them to work, because the taiwan projectors had diffrent sockets than are u.s cars.
there are some h7 halogen projectors floating on ebay rightnow, but there not hid friendly. most of the projectors around here are h3 and the light output sucks and are not hid friendly. I'm sure you can try and put a hid conversion into one of halogen projectors, but i don't guarentee you will have the same results as i did.
who knows though...try it ahaha....it's only about 300+ for the hid conversion kit and another 200-250 for the projectors and if it doesn't work out and you burn your lights up. remember that i didnt recommend you do it.
peace man,
p.s find those taiwan projectors to be on the safe side. that is your best bet.
p.s.s or buy the non hid projectors and throw some piaa bulbs in there haha
