Exclamation Air Filter - Reminder

Just a friendly reminder to everyone with an intake - don't forget to clean that filter and oil it again as we approach spring! I just did mine today and OMG was there a lot of **** in there! Nasty build up from winter driving - salt sediments, road crap, dirt, etc...anyways...i'm goin to have a Guinness . Chao.

If your intake filter is oiled you have to buy what they call a "recharge kit". they are about $12 you can get them at autozone or any local auto parts store. basically you spray this cleaner on the outside of the filter and let it eat the dirt away. then you rinse it from the INSIDE out so the dirt and sediments flow off the filter. let it dry and put a new coat of spray oil on it. everything you need is included in the kit and it will do prob 1/2 dozen cleans....anyways....yeah.

Planning on doing mine when I swap my summer wheels/tires back on. Probably do that the same time I install my 2G DSM brakes and stainless lines. Shouldn't be long now...

I'll be cleaning my AEM filter and replacing my rubber shock mount that my dealer broke next month. Got a big project coming up.

Would you see the dirt inside or outside of the filter? I have SRI, recently checked the inside, can't see a damn dirt. I think I had it for about 7000kms now.

It's not always easy to see. But with only 7000km on a SRI, you're no where near needing to clean it yet. For most people, once a year is enough. People who run more miles/year, like me, I recommend twice a year. I do it spring and fall.

Uh, not that shock mount. The $5 rubber shock mount that holds my CAI to the transmission. Sorry about that!
They are going to pay me when I show them the receipt for the parts. My service guy I deal with at the dealership is too cool to d!ck me over like that.
