Car Starts And Dies? Please Help!!

I just got some body works done for my car today, just got it back and I drove it to the store. When I came back and tried to start the car, it didn't start, it made a clicking sound. I thought it was my battery so I bought a battery from Walmart and put it on. This time it starts but the engine dies instantly. I tried stepping on the gas pedal for a little bit but when I let go, it'll die again. Just wondering if you guys can figure out what the problem is or if anyone had this problem before. Wondering if it has anything to do with my piggyback ecu from RRM or if its my Injen CAI. I don't think it would be my mods because I had it installed for a long time without the car dying. Please Help if you guys know anything...

Questions:

1. Did the car die before or after you got your car back from the body works?
2. Was the car running fine before this?
3. Perhaps try clutch-starting the car?

from other posts I would first check the maps for any unusual values. What area of the car was the body work and would the shop have any reason to disconnect the battery? If it was bumper work maybe they messed with your air filter. other than that a sensor could be bad or disconnected, start with the maf sensor. If they had the car on a lift check your o2 sensors and exhaust to make sure everything down there is ok. no check engine light?

I'm going to guess they disconnected the battery for some reason, and your stock ECU is still re-learning how to run your engine smoothly. It should get better over the next couple days.

You will experience this same thing any time you reset your ECU.

starting and stalling instantly? Let's not be hasty and say this is a normal condition. I can reset the dtc's with evoscan and the car idles normally after 10 seconds or so. Even with a freshly disconnected battery the ECU should be able to keep the engine started.

I would say check all sensors and if you don't have the piggy hook up then I wouldn't say it's an ecu problem. If the piggy is on your car then check the map for any unwanted or rare (25.5) value

If your engine starts then revs to about 1800 then dies it could be the MAF sensor, my car had that problem.

I took off the piggy today and it started fine.. so I am running without the piggy now. Maybe the dead battery affected the piggy? I will try to hook it back on soon and see if it will start normal.

how long have you had the piggyback? You and glitv need to get with each other and compare notes. If you both bought the piggy recently I would contact RRM and see if they have had any other complaints.
