not anything noticible with just a test pipe...well besides the fact that you wont pass inspection, and like you said...a whole whole lot of noise..

1-2 HP...and risking getting caugh...with a heavy fine...it is against the Federal law to run cat-less on the public roads!

please don't run catless on public roads. it's not worth the power, it's not worth the damage it causes the environment, and it sounds like total ***.

for a race car you can get a test pipe for the track, for more power get a high flow cat welded in.

The RA exhaust is already pretty open. There's not much available to gain. You're better off spending your money elsewhere unless the different sound is what you're looking for.

I was new and fresh to my evo once and I wanted to run catless. So I did for 2 weeks and got tired of it fast. It's very loud and you always have the thought on your mind "what if a cop pulls me over..."
It's really not worth it. Get a 3 inch high flow cat instead.

If you car is NA you will notice almost no increase from stock cat to hfc or catless. MAYBE 2 HP and that is being generous. If you car is turbo you can gain 10-15 hp which has been tested before.

there are three restrictive areas where you can gain power.

the bend in the DP is press bent, not mandrel bent. Just look at it.

the factory cat is restrictive and there is a little to gain here.

The exhaust doesn't handle the additional flow from doing the first two things very well. Replacing this will get rid of a good chunk of annoying vibration in the muffler and provide for the additional flow.

combine the three and you have quite an upgraded system.

and spending money elsewhere makes the exhaust that much more important. The more you modify in other places the more restrictive the factory exhaust is going to seem.

when you go turbo youll be rid of the stock down pipe and all youll really need is a hfc and axelback maybe. if your not going turbo just buy rrms header dp combo.

There are a few states I wouldn't even think about running catless in. California is one of them.
