30,000 mile service

I've done a search, no clear answers. I'm coming upon the 30,000 mile mark.
I don't have the time, skill, nor patience to do any of the work myself.

What would you recommend?

I'm sure I would save some money by getting the work done at a service place other than the dealer, but would they be able to adjust the valve lash properly?

How much should the whole thing cost at the dealer vs. non-dealer?

I purchased my 2004 RA with that "best backed cars on the planet" deal or whatever. Basically 30K, 60K, and every other oil change is covered by mitsu. IIRC the 30K service is a valve lash adjust, cabin air filter, and they check your brakes. I have the dealership do my work, for what I've needed done they have been as reasonable as anyone else.

Hold-UP. Are saying that under our warranty that mitsu willl actually pay for the service at 30K, 60K and every other oil change? Is that after the 60K or from the beginning (oil change)

Only if you bought the car during the promotion, which was late summer/early fall of 04. Basically, the warranty was 100,000 mile drivetrain + 60,000 miles free maintenence. There were catches, and I never took advantage of having the free maintenence, but it was a definite perk for your average Joe.

otter-san,
can valve adjustment be done outside of the dealership? I'm talking about non-dealer auto service shops.

Yeah. It's a common service on older engines and many Honda engines. Any mechanic worth their salt should be able to do it.
