that is exactly right. and what i think. that light is connected to something which is making it not work being cut frayed or im thinking if there is a relay for the alter but cant find info whether there is or not.

good luck man!! remeber any little cut in a wire that touchs metal or any ground will make that wire useless!! let us know if you find anything out and i'll keep thinking!

Check the 7.5 amp fuse in your under-dash fuse panel. Top row, second from the left. That's the one that powers your ALT light, and sends the signal to the alternator.

awww, that would be frickin hilarious if it was a fuse I was going to suggest double checking (and proving numbers, they are all numbered on the diagrams) the fuses but after taking a second and third look at the OP it seemed to me he would have checked them 100 times by now

if it's a fuse you have to let us know so we can all laugh...

actually if there is any problem with the wiring (cuts, or grounding) that fuse should be blown and it should blow again everytime you replace it! definetly check that and let us know whats up.

well found the problem and fixed it. a lot of research and my friend sent me the entire copy of the lancer repair manual. and it turned out like i thought. it was the ignition wire coming off alter cut in the firewall. so i connected it back up and runs again. however that wire being connected back up my warning light/battery light should come on but still does not. but the alter is now charging again thank god.

yeeeeeeeaaaaahhhh!!!!! you must be happy as hell to get that over with!!! i can't imagine the excitement of getting a turbo kit, and having to deal with that crap you went through for a week!!! enjoy your ride now
