Ecu flash? Rrm piggy back?

Does anyone know about any ECU flashs for the R/As? I have heard some bad things here in calgary ( Canada, Alberta) about the RRM piggy back ecu and the guy at SpeedTech said he probably would not even install the ECU if RRM sent instructions because he does not know the common problems with the setup. Anyone have any Ideas or answers?

I haven't had very good experiences with Speedtech in the past here in Saskatoon. Any other tuning(ish) places in Calgary, there has to be.

only problem I can imagine with the piggy back is the base map that RRM sends with it, was not the best for me because the climate here in south east texas is so much different than california.

tune it yourself and you're made in the shade!

Tons of people on here have the rrm piggyback and no one has had any problems... I wouldn't believe all the speed shops you talk to.

As most of you know Hackish and I have been able to flash the Ralliart and until we get good results hard to say how good it is other than the principal of differences. I am no big fan of rrm but I will say that the split second unit that rrn uses is a good unit for what it does. Personally I think its over priced and for a bit more you could get the Haltech Mini. But again the SS unit is good for what it does....FYI yes I have used the SS unit and haltech.....

I wouldn't want to say negative stuff about any product in particular but I've tried nearly every piggyback that was marketted for the ralliart and they all encountered problems. Much of the trouble is the number of sensors and the complexity of their interactions. Knowing the problems I designed a piggyback but the the time all the sensors were properly tricked I was so close to a complete standalone that it was far too expensive. The only viable thing from there was to develop a reflash and that's what I did and it works far better than any piggyback ever will.

Still waiting for the client to get his car out of storage so we can stick it on the dyno.
