04' Front grille + bird = broken grill

I have been doing a lot of travelling with my RalliArt the past few months, from NY > VA > NY every week. While driving on I-66 a couple weeks ago a bird decided to comakazie into my grill and broke a "slat". So I now have a grill missing a tooth.

Seems the OEM replacement is $200, and subsitute grills are around $90 with shipping. Are there some alternatives? Anyone with a grill that they replaced wanting to sell their old one?

Either order a grille from a junkyard, or customize your broken one by cutting out all the slats, sanding it smooth, attaching mesh, and painting it.

That would be perfect and very appreciated.

There isn't many junk yards around my way, and the ones that are around seem not to have any non-front end damaged RalliArts. As for mesh, meh, I really like the look of the OEM.

Otter is right, you can save money, and you have the oppurtinity to make the stock grill look way better than it does now. Thats what i would do. But like i said if u want mine, i'll sell them to you. I just hope i still got them, cuz i remember selling a few pieces from my car already. I still gotta check my shed.

but yea. Save money and make your stock **** look better. Take otter's advice

FYI - insurance will cover "acts of god" IE animals -- Provided you have the right coverage. Being that you are still paying on it i assume - you would have comprehensive.

It does NOT raise your rates.

Goood thinking works great if you hit a deer and you need a new front end and alignment... but i dont think he wants to pay a 500 dollar deductable for a piece of plastic when he can just buy mine for like 40 or 50 bucks... OR just fix his own for free and it will look badass

I have zero deductible. It only makes sense. You pay a few DOLLARS more a year - and if you ever have to use it you save 500... Makes sense.

nvm found it here

http://www.nepthys.com/artofrally/mods01.html

my main question is how they get the mesh to stick to the inserts.... i dont know how it'll stay without having something to support it or else i'd think it'd fly off during highway driving
