Any help guys?

this happened to a friend of mine. his engine blew and there was a hole on the side of the block. he got a used engine from a salvage junkyard from a 2004 Outlander for $800 with 41k. if you take it to the shop they should charge you anywhere around $800-1000 to swap the engine. or you can save yourself money and do it yourself like my friend did. good luck to you and let us know what happens!

So I've gotten an estimate of $2700 for a used engine with 70k miles on it or $4600 for a new one.

Are those numbers including installation fee? labor? or just the motor? Please specify . They sound a little high to me.

Very high like said before , car-parts.com!!! I just saw one with 17k for 1500, in Indiana , that's pretty close for you so freight shouldn't be to bad...
