OBX Header and Borla Boomer Muffler Review

Hey hey so i thought i would right a quick review on the OBX header and the Borla Boomer Muffler (BlowTorch Tip). Got the whole system instaled today and have to say i'm pretty happy with it.
Muffler: I retained my Stock Cat with 2 1/4 piping, the sound i got is wonderful! Great throaty sound i expected when i step on the gas but when i am at cruising speeds or constant throttle i;m not being rattled to death. The muffler looks great out the back!

OBX Header....I was torn on getting this but just went for it. Loved the out of the box Crome polish look, little concerned bout longevity of it though bc of how thin the metal looks for the piping after the flange. It sits really well! i have a Mishimoto radiator with a Single fan and it barely clears it, matches great with it though. And the Piping through the bottem doesnt sit as low as i thought it would from some other pictures ive seen w the OBX header. The Piping did Blue pretty much as soon as I drove with it for the first hour, I like the look of it but hope it doesnt compromise the integrity of the piping.

Performance: I have the OBDII scanner w Torque app on my phone and did a few test runs for 1/4mile HP and Torque before installing the exhuast. After wards I saw a .4s better in 1/4 and 9hp and 15lbs in numbers. Realize this is very rough but gave me an idea of gains. The butt power curve feels like a much more leaniar (spelling) curve even through MIVEC. I'm going to reset my battery TMRO and see how it reprograms itself. I'll try to put some pictures up once i get them off my phone and attempt to put a sound/video clip up.

Edit:--- reset the computer let it idle for ten minutes and went for a spirited 30min drive...feels much more responsive ill try the Torque app again see if.numbers change much at all. Still working on sound gotta find the right spot to set my phone

Let me know what you think!

nice! I have the same headers. They got very hot for me so I have mine wrapped. I heard you're not supposed to do that for these since apparently they will crack...But its been about 8 or so months and no problems with them.

Also the OBD scanner for your phone...are you talking about the REV app? And the kiwi adapter? If so how do you like that? I've been looking at it but unsure if I should get it.

Good to hear its holding up I was thinking bout wrapping it but the temp hasn't gone up I might wrap the lower section to protected it for winter driving.

I bought a cheap China made eBay Bluetooth obdII and its been wprking great im still learning how to use it. The app im using is Torque for my Droid. I haven't tried to export any data logging yet but it already has helped..I used it the day I got it on my gfs Jeep liberty for a CEL. For 27$ total I say its a steal :-)

Oh and no CEL for me w the header used a basic bolt plug to fix that before it started

That will be a quick way to rot the pipe. Heat wrap isn't intented to be used as a protectant against moisture, it's quite the opposite. The wrap will trap moisture and begine to accelerate the break down the metal, especially if those OBX headers are not stainless.

If you want protect the piping against the elements, have it jet coated. It allows the header to run cooler and protect it. It's well worth the money.
