Hi, I just bought a 2005 lancer ralliart from a guy and when I'm cruising down the highway at 100km/h the rpm is at 3000 is there something wrong or is this how these cars are? Plz let me know thx.

You sir have bought a vehicle with aggressive gearing. Use a light foot to conserve gas.

i can't really add anything to this other than laughter, cause it's true...Gearing is something i would like to have researched more while my transmission was apart, but i just didn't have the time, 5th gear swaps are done all the time you just need to find one that fits/works. 6th gear would have been a very good idea for a car that is geared the way it is...but to be honest i drive 600km every weekend, and i don't find the mileage to be that bad, based on these facts and the displacement of the engine...my ES is better on gas by far.

I get anywhere from 25 (city) to 32-33 mpg (slower highway, around 60-65 mph) during the summer. Regular freeway speeds I tend to get around 29 mpg @ 75-80 mph. I think the EPA rating is 25c - 29h

23c 29h. By the way, anyone see the new layout in Fuelly? It has some new features (or old ones I may have never seen?) that are pretty cool.

^ You have a lot of mods, and more than likely drive a lot more aggressive than I do. I have no mods, and drive like a grandma - everywhere I go. I never drive over 65 MPH, ever.

If possible stay out of the highway, I noticed a 60 % increase in gas miliege if u stay on a low 4th gear which is around 40 to 60 kms on 1300 rpms to 1800 rpms as soon as you pass 2000 rpms gas is a guzzler especially at highway speeds
