You'll be able to find that on here. There's a guide kicking around somewhere, I'm at work so I can't really spend much time digging it up, but it is here.

If you can't find it, you could mark the wires with masking tape or something, and make a note of which wire goes where as a guide. Seems kind of a ghetto way of doing it but hey, maybe it'll help.

I throw one of those codes all the time on the Evo. Absolutely ensure the MAF connector is locked into the adapter tight. Apply some electrode grease.

Well after a lot of trial, error, and confusion I have the car running rather well. I ripped out the piggyback and 99% of my problems have been solved. The hesitation from 2,500 to 3K, the limp mode, and the idle problems are gone. it's buttery smooth below 4K.

The only problem now is that it won't rev above 4K. It hits a rev limiter at 4K RPM regardless of what I do... WOT or not, It's limited to 4K. Before I removed the piggy I could go past that every once and a while and hear MIVEC kick in, but all the aforementioned problems made it go into limp mode after letting off the throttle from higher RPM's.

So I guess at this point it's a win, because I can drive it for more than 5 minutes without going into limp mode, lol. Got the tags done too, so now I'm legal, lol.

Any suggestions as to how to remedy the 4K limiter deal let me know!

From my experience the 4K limiter is another part of limp mode. When you hit 4k does it do an odd slow rev-limiter like thing? I would start looking at your MAF sensor, it may need replacing. Or if your like me you may need to replace or maybe just clean your Accelerator Position Sensor. Just my two cents.

BTW ride is looking sweet! I really dig the lights and siren!
Makes me wish I had joined the volunteer fire department back home.

Yeah it does the slow rev limit thing. I'm gonna unhook the battery and let it sit for a while then see what happens. I'll read any codes before unhooking it though. I've been having codes related to the MAF here and there after getting it put back together, so that's probably the culprit.

PS thanks for the kudos! Took it for my first run about 2 hours ago! Did a landing zone for Aircare.

Well the 4K limiter is still in effect... Right now I'm getting a P0102 (Mass Air Flow Circuit Low Input), and P0136 (Oxygen sensor Circuit Bank 1 sensor 2). I'm replacing the MAF today, so hopefully that will resolve the codes associated with that. The O2 sensor is a new one though... I'm wondering if it got gummed up from the soot from when it was running super rich.

The O2 sensor comes up if there is something wrong with the cat. Do you have a cat? If not you have to install the fouler.

Well I put the new MAF in today and.... No more 4K limiter!!! Woo hoo!
There may very well be some issues with the O2 sensor too, but I haven't checked for codes since putting the new MAF in.

I do have a cat, the high flow one RRM sells. I've had cat inefficiency codes thrown before, but this one isn't very specific...
