P2173. Bogging problems. Fix?

Hey guys my car is running like **** all of a sudden and threw p2173. Any Ideas? Dont think it's spark Plugs.
Also when I try to start my car it starts and stalls. I have to pump the gas once and it fires up and idles

Major Edit: Buy a MAF sensor if you get this code! Fixed mine and other owner's issues

Edit 1 month later: okay we'll I made another thread of how I'm hesitating t high Rpms, but now I'm getting symptoms of what happened in this thread but no cel. When I get on the gas it goes forward but at a noticeable difference, like it barely accelerates, and when I shift I shift normally, but the car kicks forward when Ii get on the gas then smoothly accelerates.

Not really much to go on, other than it points to your MAF. My guess is a dodgy connection at the Piggy, where you cut and spliced into the MAF signal wire. I used to have problems with my car bogging if I had a passenger and they bumped the mess of wiring hanging under the ECU with their leg while I was driving. I took out the spade connectors I had in there (was supposed to be temporary anyway), and soldered and heat-shrink-wrapped the connections. No more problems.

Check your wiring by the ECU, specifically the MAF signal wire. Make sure it's got a good, solid connection on both wires, and that they are not shorting out to anything else.

Got the MAF sensor, I reset the ECU, let it idle for 15 minutes+. And when I put it in gear, go, then hold the clutch in it stalls. I have had this issue before but for some dumb reason I decided to keep the car alive by pumping the accelerator and I start driving. Flooring it to be honest for about 1 minute. Got home after the test drive and it stalled out ( saw that coming) but when I had this same issue before, I'd just restart it and let it learn to idle. But now it starts then stalls out, which never happened to me before. So I disconnected and let the ECU reset again bc I remembered I have the piggyback and need to drive normal for however long (100 miles or so). Hope this helps the idle issue. Any input helps

I forgot who said it, but apparently there was a TPS recall for our cars, I assume that's the same thing as accelerator pedal position sensor

it was Brent (OttRalliart05) and i'm not sure if he was referring the APPS or TPS, so people call the APPS a TPS, when actually the TPS is inside the throttle body, and the APPS is what your accelerator cable connects to...

Well after driving in traffic and the car stalling while in traffic, it finally learned to idle lol. So all in all steps I took were, 1) buy MAF sensor after throwing the CEL code (P2173). 2) install (straight forward for a noob like me) 3) reset ecu 4) learn idle 5) drive happy also no need to disconnect or even touch the ECM/Piggy

Now get rid of the damned oiled air filter so it doesn't happen again. Use one designed to be dry.
