Unless its an AWD passat I don't really see the point. I hit 30mpg on the highway no problem, I doubt the passat would be substantially better...

I also have to whole-heartedly disagree that the Passat is more fun to drive. I found it quite boring, but that's personal preference.

Ok update. I found a 2005 VW jetta wagon tdi 5spd in mint condition with 66, 000 miles. Maintained at VW and owned by an old couple. They literally have ever paperwork or it seems like for any service they had done to this car.

Carfax checks out so this will most likely be the one I get if my car sells this weekend. I drove it yesterday and it felt great, torque feels nice. So I might do a stage one tune but other then that, its what I wanted...better mpgs, plus I could always go the airbag route with the car lol

i looked at a few images on google and it looks good to me especially if you want lots of interior space. good find bro. cars from the older generations (elderly) are usually kept in amazing shape as they follow the servicing guidelines that are presented to them by their dealership/mechanic.

the only downside to this is..........................hmmmmmm............... ......it's not a F****** RALLIART!!!!!!! BOOOO!!!!!

i hope your RA finds a perfect home though.

cheers
