I just replaced front and rear rotors and pads. My e brake seems to have to be pulled up all the way. How do you adjust it? Thanks

 

when you had the rear rotors off, did you get a good look at the brake shoes? the spacing between the bottom of the brake shoes is adjusted by the little splined/threaded spacer. the cable tension is adjusted under the center console.

 

if you take your center console off to expose the e brake there is a 10mm nut underneath the handle in line with the cable you can turn clockwise to adjust tighter.

 

I didn't pay attention to the rear shoes. I've never had a car that had that setup before. If I adjust the cables, will it tighten it up or do I have to do it at the rear shoes?

 

just tighten the cable, it's simple and most of the time the only problem.

 

brake shoe spacing is important too, if you just tighten the cable, your shoes will only require a longer throw to make contact, and you'll end up with uneven wear. also not a bad idea to inspect and replace rusted springs and retaining pins.

 

you are correct, these should be addressed. I am not saying tighten the cable and problem solved, both steps are equally as important.
