My theory is that a longer resonator would sound deeper because it would allow for a standing wave at resonance with a longer wave length and therefore a lower frequency than a resonator of a shorter length.

This is just what I think. I have neither tested it nor seen anyone else test it.

That is what I have come to understand as well.

I believe Lanzer has a fairly long resonator. Ive been doing some modification to my exhaust as well I think I'll be switching to a larger resonators when I get a chance.

Right now I have ceramic coated stock header, ceramic downpipe with the cat and crushed section replaced, stock resonator pipe. And last night I just switched out my 3A Racing CF muffler with the stock muffler that has a big pretty tip. The racing muffler was far, FAR too loud and raspy. The stock muffler has a little rasp in low gear around 2500 rpm but in high gear or above that rpm its gone. Its quieter now than its ever been though...

I switched back to the stock muffler too. Magnaflow finally totally rusted out and couldn't patch it. Stock muffler has a nice tone to it.

I have the stock header, RRM V2 downpipe (deletes the cat), 22" magnaflow resonator and RRM ss axle back . I want to add an exhaust cut out after the downpipe but the new project "wide hips" is coming into play
