i want to lower my lancer
i want to lower my lancer
i have been wanting to lower my lancer but some people advise against it others say i should go for it so im stuck in the middle.. had anyone lowered theirs? and what kind of springs? thanks
There are generally no issues with lowering a car, unless you lower it too much with just springs. If you get all the proper components like coil-overs and altered control arms you will have no issues, and is the true correct way to lower a car technically speaking. For the normal person on a budget coil-overs are just fine.
Not everyone wants to not be able to drive down a normal street. You keep telling him to slam it when that is generally not what someone who already stated he has concerns about lowering a car cause of what other people said would want to do.
Slamming a car brings all other kinds of possible issues into play. Like killing sets of tires due to going beyond the adjustable specs of the vehicle. Killing the ride quality since you have no spring travel and have to firm it up so much that it doesnt bottom out on every bump. And overall just overtaxing the entire suspension setup.

ya but im on a fixed budget and i cant afford coilovers -.- lol so i would just put on eibach pro which would give me about a 1.5 inch all around and just ride them until my shocks give out ... which i am hoping wont be anytime soonand my car has 58k miles

I have a small toolbox in there, and jumper cables. Nothing that would cause it to sit lower. But in general there is more of a gap over the front wheels than there is over the rear on the lancer. I have RRMs springs its like 1.5" in front and 1.4" in back.
ive had my car lowered as low as the megans can go for a while now and my lip still rarely scrapes and or the exhaust either with the stock wheels i drove anywhere no issue but now with my stretched tires its a little dif cuz the amount of wheel that pokes out past my tires haha but really im just saying if you are scared to mess something up then maybe you should leave the daily alone and pic something else up to have fun with i mean im not tryna be a dick n think my ideas are the only ones that matter but i just dont see a point in spending 3 to 4 hundred bucks on lowering springs that only drop an inch and a half and still leaves massive wheel gap sorry but to me its ugly i cant stand wheel gap if your on a budget best thing i can say is try n look through the forums for sale sections and try n find some used lowering springs you can save a lot more money that way
hey i have a 2002 lancer oz and im wanting to lower it not a whole lot maybe 1.5"-2.5" max found some springs on ebay was wanting to know weather or not to buy aftermarket struts or keep the factory ones?
