Slower launch than the GSR, not faster. Just watch.

^ If the launch control turns out to be similar to that of DSG, it should be noticeably faster than the manual, that is if the driver does the hold in brake & stomp the gas to 5500 RPM launch.

It's been noted that the launch control on the MR will be set to a lower point than on the GSR to preserve the trans.

I had the same experience -- told the dealer here that I wanted to buy a Lancer Ralliart, and they started talking all confused about the Evo and the GTS... until I made it perfectly clear by showing them the Detroit coverage on the web. Even then it took a few days for them to completely clue in about what I wanted to buy.

Shouldn't Mitsubishi help these guys out by always sending out a press release when they announce a new vehicle? The Mitsubishi websites are similarly limited -- it's not like they're helping sales by keeping announced production vehicles 'secret'. I mean, currently you have to be a member of the press to download Ralliart pictures from the US site in anything more than tiny resolution (same pictures that have been widely available on the web for weeks). They're not even easy to find, and the 'latest' news is that the Dakar rally was cancelled in early January! What are they thinking?

I would love a MR, but maybe a ralliart is the way to go for a DD
yeah but the GTR also has a DCT that can hold the 480 WHP that the GTR makes. much more aggressive if you ask me. the SST is nice but it's no GTR tranny even VW stepped up and will offer a 7 speed dry clutch DSG soon.

As for the VW 7-speed DSG can handle only around 250Nm torque. It's designed for those bigblock engines like 1.4TFSI that are sold in Europe.

Those hatchback pics look really nice sans the funny colored Recaros seats. I'd rock that hatchback for sure. Forget the MS3.
