Agreed if we do in fact get the black-housed tail lights as well, Black will be a really nice choice. Can't wait.

We don't even know IF they are going to bring it to the states. Typically, hatches don't sell well here in the US.

I just want a nice, bright red. Hopefully that redish orange one we've seen in the press photos isn't the only red offered.

Looks like it's confirmed - The Lancer Sportback is bound for US soil.

Now the only questions are when and what models will be offered in the sportback style. (I'm hoping for the Ralliart)

Heck, I'd take white or black over the crappy gray they showed up here in Canada (the colour was crappy, the paint itself looked top-notch) -- personally I'm holding out for that US auto show orange, or maybe Subaru blue, if I have to.

Just please let there be an actual colour! -- it'd be a real shame to have to paint over a brand new car.

Seems likely Mitsubishi would have mentioned the brakes if they were better than the GTS, but the brakes on the GTS aren't so pathetic, and they are better than the base Lancer (of course) : "The GTS features sport-tuned suspension, larger disc brakes." (Mitsubishi press release on 2009 Lancer). Probably a very easy mod for the Ralliart to upgrade the brakes, even if the Evo brakes don't fit for some reason.

I can't see Mitsu stealing WRX sales from Subaru if the RA is over 26K as is. The WRX starts at 24K, then the Legacy GT starts at 28K (excluding STi). If the RA is 27K+ it's going to be competing with the LGT, and it's own GSR, not the WRX. Don't forget that to compete with the WRX, it has to compete with the WRXs competitors too... MS3, Caliber SRT, GTI, C30, Cobalt (which is getting 260hp next year) and the like. Which are mostly under 25K unless you option the hell out of them.

Plus, with the X weighing 3555.. if the RA is any heavier... OMG (Just FYI the 08 WRX is 3,142 lbs for the MT, and supposedly going to have a bump in power, among other things for next year)

Not sure the Aussies get the whole women and cars thing (take a look at the two nervous-looking women in Mitsubishi outfits), but here's yet another photo of a Ralliart in red, which must be more good news for those who hate orange:

Yes this is true but do remember the true comp will be WRX and RA due to AWD....which is one thing all those cars lack

The red looks good and i like the wheels a lot, are those the same wheels that were on the detroit model? For me its between red and silver (might hide the chrome front a little).

Oh and those models look awkward because they're aussie olympians, not models.
