Ok, so has anyone actually bought one of these yet?

I've actually had a few guys checking out my car. I'm pretty sure they thought it was an evo. I didnt bother correcting them! The looks are more than close enough, with the big mouth grill, spoiler, and hood. The fender mouldings are all that is different, and that alone is very minor.

likes:
fat torque that starts low
great handling and steering feedback
incredible AWD system that keeps the car going where I want it to go
Recaro seats are super comfortable and supportive. Big bolsters keep you in place in tight corners.
Heated seats and automatic climate control are great now that its winter.
bi-xenon headlamps work great, both low and hi HID
Quiet interior up to and including 140kmh.
TCSST is the bomb! All the benefits and feel of a manual, with the convenience of an auto. Sport mode is everything the mags say it is, and shifts are lighting quick. So nice to have engine braking in an auto!

dislikes:
rear wing blocks some of the view out the back. This will take some getting used to.
Fuel mileage is less than stellar (but so worth it!)
"All season" Dunlop tires are crappier than crap, especially with some light snow on the ground. Have snows on order, but damn Quebec got all the stock.
So true.... the Dunlops sp 5000's are not that great when the temp drops below 0 Deg. However when it warms up a bit the tires are not bad at all. Glad you are enjoying the car. I picked up my Ralliart a few months ago and love it. Lets just hope that the tranny will hold up for a long ....long time. I know Miutsu put a lot of R& D into it but.... I always wonder...... I do think this Tranny is about as close it gets to a manual...but with all the benefits of an Auto, not to mention quicker shift times than a standard tranny can ever accomplish.

There are plenty of snow tires in the US -- just mail order from someone like Tire Rack (when I ordered, my snow tires were not only in stock, they were even on sale!) -- if you get wheels and TPMS, they ship everything assembled and balanced, and it's a lot cheaper than Canadian prices, in general.

Done and done! I pick them up this weekend from a friend's house near Buffalo. 48hr stay across the border, and no duty or taxes!

I opted to go with 16" steel rims, without TPMS. After much research, apparently all I will need to do is hold the Info button down for a few seconds after starting the car to clear the TPMS screen, and resume normal operation.

16" wheels will fit, thankfully, as that is a MUCH lower cost option than 18" alloys, and 18" snow tires!

Something I smiled at when picking up the rims: they were in the wheel catalog under "2009 Lancer Evolution"...and while I might be mistaken, I don't think 16" will fit over the evo brakes!
