2011 Lancer Ralliart?
Make that 3 year-by-year changes:
2008 - 225hp WRX Hatch only with mediocre performance, compared to previous 2006 model. It landed 3rd place on all comparison between MS3 and 2009 Ralliart.
2009 - 265hp WRX Hatch/Sedan. Destroyed the competition single-handedly, blew every other car in its segment out of the water.
2010 - Limited Edition available, with HID-headlamps, Leather seating surface and Sirius Satellite Radio... around 28k.
2011 - Flared fenders, tweaked suspension, optional big wing, hid-headlamps, wider wheels and tires, revamped air intakes, redesigned fog lamps, and as per Subaru's website, a more sinister-looking grille up front (which looks the same to me). Added also the 08+ STI quad-outlet exhaust.
Changes for 2010 are barely any, its just an added trim, which the STI and MR also received... but the major changes are made in 2008, 2009 consecutively and 2011 with a crap-load of STI-ported features.
I mean, Mitsubishi is either coming up with the "2011" Ralliart we've been mentioning on this thread (and the one we're so hoping to see soon) or they're not selling one more for next year... cause there's really no reason to choose a Ralliart over the 2011 WRX except for looks, which are subjective... just like there's no reason to choose an STI when the Evo can do every single thing it [the WRX STI] does and then some...

The Ralliart as a car is unrelated to Ralliart the company thus Ralliart the company closing its doors will not have any impact on whether there is a 2011 Ralliart and what its specifications will be.
Sure, the Ralliart maybe the underdog from the recent Motortrend comparo (Spring Chicken article), but it is still my car of choice among the bunch. Call me crazy, but there's just something about the car when I testdrove it. If you think I got poor taste, what can you say of Bryan from GST and Ryan Gates (heard he got one too)?
The changes for 2011 as mentioned by the OP does make some sense for Mitsu, it could really boost the sales on the RA.

Pretty close!?!?! Subaru had egg on their face when the WRX actually beat the STI in some independent tests.
I have also read reviews telling people to avoid the STI as the WRX is so close and you save thousands that it's just not worth it.
Yeah, they are pretty close.
