2011 Lancer Ralliart?
as good as it would be... its hard to believe mitsu is going to dump more money into a car that is already selling pretty well... most RAs in the dealerships down here dont seem to last long. extra 5hp wont get anyones attention. hard to believe the 245s are going on there... the only thing is the 5 speed. but IMO the 5 speed WILL end up hurting evo sales (if evo sales can get any worse)

well thats because the RAs that came out were limited quantities. but all the ones that do hit dealerships do seem to sell. In some areas RAs have not even been sold yet. I have yet to see another RA here... but by reading the "how much did you pay" thread a bunch of people bought from the same dealership i did. so, in terms of selling millions... no... but in terms of selling the RAs that do come in i'd say yes they are selling pretty well.
Well, as for the questions about Ralliart's hurting EVO sales, I came across this little bit...

So sales of the EVO are up...it seems Mitsu just over produced...probably on purpose....knowing they really didn't have anything up their sleeve for 2009, but a few tweaks ready to go by 2010. I am glad I held back on the Evo (lol couldn't afford it this year
) for a few years. I am so looking forward to the 2010 EVO. The question now....will they have a color I want? Word is they are adding "Rotor Glow Metallic" to the 2010 line up.
Mitsubishi has put production of the Lancer Evolution X on hold, saying there's enough inventory to make it through the end of the year when the 2010 model is released. Mitsubishi spokesperson Christine Jew told KickingTires that no changes were planned for the 2009 model, but the 2010 variant would benefit from a few minor revisions. Inventory tracking through Cars.com confirms that there are plenty of Evos available (887 2008 models, to be specific), but that doesn't mean the new Evo X is a flop; sales of Mitsu's rally rocket were up over 50% in 2008.

"This information was given in a statement earlier today by Wayne Killen (Mitsubishi of North America Marketing President) "
So I thought I'd do a little digging.......And I found this.
CYPRESS, CA - Feb. 20, 2006: On Friday Mitsubishi Motors North America announced the resignations of Dave Schembri, EVP Sales & Marketing, and Wayne Killen, VP Marketing. Both are said to have "left to pursue other opportunities."
I verified this with someone at MMNA Cypress today.
Carry on!

More info, I forgot to post the update...
same site/link posted above.
BTW, Dave Schembri is with SmartUSA now, has been for a while. SmartUSA produces the Smart car.
The original "announcement" of their departures was made back in 2006 BTW. lol
UPDATE: We spoke with Christine from Mitsubishi about Evo production, and it's hardly a "halt." The 2009 Evo will continue to be produced for Canada and Puerto Rico, so Mitsubishi is only skipping the U.S. market for the 2009 model year. As some of you pointed out, this is primarily due to the late launch the Evo received last year. The 2010 model will go on sale this summer and will feature some "minor," undisclosed tweaks.

I guess car companies don't always make sense.
