2011 Lancer Ralliart?
I see what you are saying, but I'm looking at both markets. I originally wanted awd and turbo such as the evo or sti, but they are just too expensive to buy and maintain (at least for me right now). The RA looked good, but like I said, its a little underpowered and overweight stock and needs a manual and better wheels/tires. So I was going to look at the wrx, but its not the best looking car and all the motor issues scared me away from it. So, if I can't get awd, rwd is the next best thing and winters in NW Ohio only last a couple months usually. So the Gencoupe GT looked pretty enticing with all it offers for the mid-20's, but then I saw some reviews of the Camaro and I knew it would be a nice looking car, but gas mileage (at least for the V6) and all the options and colors you can get surprised me. Then I thought, well if I'm considering a muscle car with a high-tech 6, why not look at the mustang GT that has been updated and that old mod V8 is putting up some good numbers in the car. Plus since I can get a-plan pricing, it should be "almost" affordable depending on how many options I want. Of course this is all speculation until I actually drive them all and see what the real world prices will be and insurance, ect.
Yeah i see where your coming from, i like the new mustangs a lot and theyre getting really good reviews. I saw the camaro review on jalopnik you were talking about too and saw that it handled like poo, so they really took it back to its heritage with the 2010. Honestly if i were you, id go Gen Coupe all day, me on the other hand went with the RA because i had my heart set on it from the day i heard about it, the only real thing i dont like about it is the lack of wheel you can fit under the tiny fenders.

They didn't say it handled poorly, as it beats the G8 GXP on the nurburgring by a decent amout. They did say that it lacked driver involvement and steering feel, however.
Warning: Although I got this info from a very reliable source, I'm still somewhat skeptical about all th info, but so far every bit of information I've got from this source has been 100% accurate, and seeing as how Subaru Motors of Fuji Heavy Ind. have upgraded their Rally-bred Sport Sedans while still remainig on the same generation models there's no reason to dismiss this info as inaccurate but rather on the same path of what has always been a competition from both manufacturers to provide the consumer with the better car. So without talking any more crap, here it goes:
1 - The 2011 Lancer Ralliart is being "dramatically" improved.
2 - There is a new Galant "in the works"
3 - Outlander Sportback (2011) iMiEV (2012) Colt (2013)
4 - No word on the Evo, no green-light on the Hybrid Evo either.
5 - Regardless of Point #4, a new Lancer is set for 2014, which means New Evo with or without Hybrid.
Now, back to the main focus: 2011 Lancer Ralliart. Here's what's coming:
- Flared Front/Rear Fenders.
- Engine output of 242hp, north of 260lbs-tq.
- No word on updated suspention, most likely no changes.
- Manual (5 Speed) and TC-SST available.
- Lighter. But this will be probably just because of the 5 Speed.
- 18" Enkei Wheels.
- No word on rubber upgrade but it can be assumed 10-20mm increase. Again my sources said nothing about tire upgrade so it means "who knows"
- about 8 months away from release and confirmation of these feature upgrades.
Believe guys, I don't want to believe this, I was one of the first to dismiss the informationreleased months ago as invalid, but aparently it matches with a lot of what I was told and my sources are straight from management, not some sales dude, #2 East Coast Dealer in volume sales. I was told Mitsu engineers where there a couple weeks ago including Mr. Fuuji, and this source has told me release dates, prices and assumed specs of Evo MR, Ralliart, MR Touring, Outlander GT, 2011 Eclipse GS-Sport, etc. before they were even announced.
And I'm still trying hard to believe this last one... But we can only sit and wait.
That's all there is.

The only changes I could see Mitsu even think about doing are:
- Engine output of 242hp, north of 260lbs-tq.
- Manual (5 Speed) and TC-SST available.
- Different rims then the GTS

good to hear that its 8 months away which makes my purchase really worth it ..
get a narrower RA or wait 8 months? .. i choose my RA!
word is, the new galant is going to try to look as close to that audi-ish prototype i posted once before:

they're really trying for this, should be hot.
as far as the ralliart, 2 stories going around the dealership here. sales end is getting excited about changes, but they're all still a big maybe. district parts and service rep says we'll see very little change in the RA for 2011.
we can all hope as much as we want, because all of these changes would be awesome, but only time will tell the real truth
