Question 2011 Lancer Ralliart?

so I was just browsing the web and looking around constantly looking at the Hyundai Genesis coupe and the stuff that AMS has been doing to the car. Well I have been telling myself and everybody that if by 2012 the Ralliart doesnt come out in a manual trans that I will end up getting the new Hyundai Genesis Coupe. well I found this today check this out this link

Interesting, I wonder if they'll change the fenders to fit (if this is even true) the 245s. Maybe -my random thoughts- the 2011 RA will borrow some wide(r) fenders from the X? Who knows...good find though, peaked my interest!

That'd be the way they'd have to do it, which makes me believe that the info is mistaken.

they should offer a 6 speed manual since the sst is 6 speed, but thats just my thought. Still happy mitsu is doing something about the weak parts of the RA.

90 pounds is huge, if it is true, but that might only be for the 5 spd one

Its cool to see Mitsubishi showing that improving the RA is a major focus. I will be slighty jealous however if they get the evo wide body.

I really want to believe that, but unfortunately, I really can't. For one, I can't find any info online other than that forum post. Also, as far as I can tell, Wayne Killen left Mitsubishi in 2006, and works for Hyundai of America now. So it sounds like a big heaping pile of BS to me.

I can't see a 6-speed manual being in the works, even the Evo doesn't have that option. Plus who wants a Mitsubishi 6-speed when their 5-speed is damn near indestructible? The wheels and tires are a bit odd, it's entirely possible that they're moving to an 18 x 8.5 wheel with 245s, just not the exact setup used in the Evo (I think the offset is wrong). The power bump is way too low, I can't see that bringing the car alive like the revised 0-60 times suggest (it gains 5 HP, loses 90 lbs and somehow trims half a second off?).

Can't really believe anything until you see the actual press release from Mitsu.

6 speed is pointless, just ask the MR guys, they waste time shifting.

Even more than that, they complain about it overheating and breaking. The 5-speed is absolutely awesome, if the Ralliart came with that, it'd be a tuner's dream. It's funny, the Subaru 5-speed is temperamental while the 6-speed is bulletproof and the Mitsubishi 6-speed is temperamental while the 5-speed is bulletproof.

Id say the 5speed is what they are basing the .5 second 0-60 increase off of. Since we dont have any launch control or anything thats where we suffer the most. Unless that is they are putting some kind of LC on the 2011 TC-SST boxes.
