Adding a sunroof?!?

Hey guys, I found a wrecked 2008 lancer and their selling the sunroof for $350. It's the complete assembly. I have a few questions. Do Lancers have tubes running to the fender wells for water to run through? Is the switch in the front dome light assembly? Thanks guys.

yes and yes. see if you can get the whole roof if its in good condition. believe it or not it all un-bolts and its less likely to have a leak. at least at the sunroof. just have to re-seal the windshields (front and back) and the roof mouldings and you'll be set. easier than cutting a hole in ur baby and you can always put it back to original

look around in your yellowpage there may be places that does sunroof professionally and you're looking at somewhere between $1000-$1500....better than trying to cut open your roof yourself and improperly install the sunroof yourself....

You won't be able to install the factory sunroof your self.

You can get the cheesey glass pop up type put in that will eventually leak.

I really don't think it is a good idea to do, if you do it at least make sure a pro does it.

I dont have any plans on installing it myself. REally I just wanted the place to mount the sunroof in and I'd do all the wiring.

You will have to get the headliner from the other car as well. I don't know if all the railing and mount points will be in your car. It is likely welded in at the factory making it a pain to get out and put in your car.

IMHO don't bother.

I traded my 2004 Tiburon tuscany in on the RA :P
I loved the car and got more complements on that car then any car I've owned (even more then the RA, though I don't know why). It WAS gutless though heh.

Pretty sure it would be spot welded, but if you take off the headliner you should be able to find out. Is the roof the same color, if not it could be expensive.

No, it's black. but for the time being a black roof on a white car might look good.
