Thankyou for posting that. I did find that when I used the search and that one was the first thing I read. I wanted to try and get as many people opinions as possible. What I'm looking for, is a decently priced car with a nice style and some zing to it. I think, if I can get the right price on the RA, I will be going with that. It all depends on what the dealership can do with the numbers though. I plan on driving all three, the RA, the GSR, and the MR, if they will let me .

If you want a DD that can be lightly modded, go for the RA.

If you want a modding monster get an Evo.

The transmission on the RA and Evo MR have serious torque limits. The issue is being addressed in after market, but it will take time.

The other option you may want to look at is the WRX, which is cheaper than the Evo and can be modded with better success than the RA, at least for now.

I'm not a modding maniac and I needed a good, reliable, DD at a reasonable price, so the RA was the best choice for me.

Good luck man!

I hate to be one to agree with the WRX but I have to. If you're willing to forgive the horrible styling, the WRX has great practicality cause of the hatch and it makes more power.

couldn't afford the evo payment/insurance wise and was iffy about the ride as well, so i went RA with 0% financing. great DD that can be modded to be pretty attractive and very quick as well (by most standards), just no SERIOUS track monster a la the evo. IMO, if you dont plan on racing the car in any capacity, an RA would pry suite most performance-minded enthuasiasts pretty well when looking for something fun, slightly mod-able and fairly pratical as a DD. plus, by the time its paid off the parts should be available to really go to town on the RA drivetrain and THEN you can make it a pretty mean track car.

My local tuner can extract 357 wheel horsepower out of a stock Evo X with a tune/flash and full short ram intake;

That's 650 bucks total

You can't do that in a Ralliart

I say go with the Evo, specially the GSR;

Right now you could find an '08 Evo X GSR with less than 100 miles (which is essentially new, but a year behind) for 28k; Just look around; My local dealer is giving out their last '08 MR for 34k (3-4 grands below msrp)

If your not going to go crazy with modding and want more of a DD that's got some kick to it, go with the RA. Plain and simple. Or check out the WRX, but as state before, you'd have to appreciate or overlook it's fugly styling.

If you can afford it, definitely the EVO. The only reason I am in the Ralliart is that I love twin clutch transmissions (having traded in my 2008 VW GTI with the DSG for my Ralliart) and the banker (my wife) would not approve the cost of the EVO MR...

I could have afforded the GSR if I never ate a restaurant again for the next 5 years and stopped drinking but those are the kind of sacrifices I cannot endure even for an EVO!

if you want to have fun with a car i would say get a RA, just because it comes turbo out of factory it doesnt mean that you cant change few things in there.. and you will get mad props if you smoke a evo in a RA! if you like cars and working on them get a RA

If it ever happens

by the time we're done trying to push 290 horses out of the RA, ALL and EVERY SINGLE Evo owner is doing 400+

I really comes down to automatic or manual transmission...
Unless your looking that MR vs the RA. Which I believe the MR is a beautiful car.

If you love working on cars get an evo. You will learn soo much going from 240whp to 500whp without opening the motor...
