just test drove the ralliart sportback
well it was last night around 6:30 pm est. i drove down to bell mitsubishi in nj , and i test drove a dark gray lancer ralliart sportback, the car had 4 miles on it .it didnt have the recaro seats ,or the fosgate sound system ,the sticker was 28,280.00.
so i get inside the new sportback ,and started to drive the car , and i got to say the car has pick up. and the handling is great on the car , the ride is a little stiff. but all and all not a bad car .

I'm strongly considering one. For the wife, it needs to be awd, 4 doors, automatic (i.e., non-manual) and a hatchback. Of course I'm looking for performance for when I drive it. With these requirements, I don't see anything that competes with it. The impreza 2.5GT has these things, but is much slower. 28k is a little steep though.
When I was debating between the WRX and the Lancer, it came down to 2 things:
- financing rate
- trade in value of my truck
Subaru would give me $19,000 for my truck, Mitsu gave me $24,000. Mitsu also had the best financing rate at 2.8% or 2.9%, whereas Subaru was around 8%.

The Impreza GT isn't even worth considering. With those requirements, the only other cars I can think of are the G37X, maybe a 3-series and various Audis. I suspect all of those are going to be too expensive given what you get.

To OP: its definitely a good choice if u are lookin for functionality and performance. The sedan looks better but i swear my OZ had a bigger trunk, lol. the sportback would probably be in my driveway if it was out when i bought my RA. As for it being $28k thats understandable seein that the sedan is $27k but who pays sticker????
I like the G37x, but I need the hatchback. I am considering the EX35, which has the same engine + a hatchback. The impreza GT isn't that bad...in fact the car I'm replacing is a lightly modded automatic wrx (same as impreza GT). It ran 14.4 @ 94 at the dragstrip and currently has 171k miles with no issues. But it does easily heatsoak and if you don't brake boost, it's really a slug off the line. Thanks

Also Sportback is porkier than the Sedan so you should really consider a Sedan (unless you really really want/need a Hatchback)
