It's a big parking lot and I didn't hit anything, so I was a little freaked. I turned off the car and restarted and it went away... ANNOYING!

How many glitches, flaws, recalls are we to take? Seriously not cool.
I experienced the exact same thing yesterday. We had a big snowfall in Ottawa, I had the car idling for a bit while I cleared off snow and did a bit of shoveling.

Curious... I'm going to ask at the service dept. today.

I checked my tire pressure before this but they were really low. I've had to scrape ice and snow out of my wheels. They were causing my wheels and tires to be way out of balance, (the entire car vibrating @ 55 mph)
I live at about mile high elevation and we get about 15- 20 feet of snow annually.
I just hate the way the car sounds on start up in the mornings, and how long it takes to warm up.
Someone mentioned a block heater. Where did you get that? What we need is a transmission heater for the winter and then the cooler for the summer.

The guys at the service dept. tried to tell me this would be fixed by the AWC Re-Flash... until I reminded them I had that done a month earlier. Didn't have much to say after that, haha.

So I guess the investigation into this one needs to continue.

On the note of the block heater, I negotiated one into my RA deal. But after I picked it up I asked them if they had installed the block heater and was informed that "it would void my warranty" since they had to drill directly into the engine block. After that I was told that Mits guarantees their vehicles to start at -40 Celsius or something...

If your looking for fun in parking lots, you should turn off the ASC to begin with as you will slide A LOT more and it will put less strain on the system, really you will be surprised how big of a difference the ASC makes in bad weather

This happened because the ASC was getting too much input because you were doing donuts. Next time, turn the ASC off before having fun in the car ;-)

yeah + 1

dude, ASC is there for you if and when you need "training wheels". Actually it is stressful for the car to have ASC "on" and you doing crazy stuff. So next time (or for me, its almost all the time) hold that button down and count to 5 until you see "ASC OFF" - then go bananas on the parking lot, or wherever u are (careful)

ASC really stands for Active Stupidity Control
