one thing that may not have been mentioned is that while there has been problems with the SST... the WRX's have been known to have weak transmissions... perhaps the 09/10's are built better.

People on Nasioc have been claiming to run high 12's at 104mph completely stock.

The wrx I think overall will be of better quality for less money. I say WRX. The hatch in red looks good. I'm not a fan of the tails but that can be easily changed. The tranny is the only thing that needs to be proven.

13.4 ia the best i've seen... in the tests i've read that is... high 12's must be with some pretty damn good drivers and with clutches and trannies that won't likely last long. I like the sedan in blue myself.

I think the Ralliart has won the looks department for sure. What would I rather drive though? WRX! I came from a 07 STi to my Evo and honestly I wouldn't trade a Subaru for any other Mitsubishi. Just get the WRX. It's faster than the new STi's stock. I think the Ralliart looks nice but thats where it ends for me IMO. Performance to Dollar ratio is obvious.

The difference in price is based on the transmission; in the ralliart you are getting a hight technology transmission and the WRX is just a old school transmission, in a couple of years from now almost every car will have sequential tranny; WRX has better interior plastic than Ralliart for sure and reliability of the transmission in the long term is about to figure out; nonetheless mitsu ralliart tranny comes from Germany, just buy a entended warranty bumper to bumper to 5 years/100.000 miles.

You can find a 2010 ralliart for less of $28K OTD in NYC

it may be old school but it's still the strongest and most reliable way to go.

i suggest NOT buying an extended warranty on either car, unless you plan on keeping your car bone stock.

With that, my choice would have to be the wrx, a hatch preferably. It's quicker, lighter, and a better performer out the box. I prefer the manual tranny, and I don't even notice it as a "hassle" in city driving. Who's really thinking when they're shifting anyway? you just do it. Also, even though the RA tranny is not an automatic in the TECHNICAL sense that it is a sequential manual, but it still AUTOMATICALLY shifts for you and does not require a left foot, which is what people mean when they are talking about the difference between an automatic and manual transmission

While you can buy a MUCH better performing GSR X for 30,8 OTD like I did lol.

I agree! I think the SST (although i've never driven one) has been really raved about. However as was said... the problem with any extended warranty is that if you want a faster car which it appears you do, you will want to mod the car, now you can do that and then take everything off before you take it in for any sort of warranty work, but otherwise, don't waste your money.
