Considering a 2010 Ralliart or 2010 WRX
i have raced 3 wrx 265's and a couple wrx in the 08 09 trim at the track. Beat all of them badly (prior to some mods).
Additionally they were running low 15's here or high 14's (6000 ft elevation) while stock sportbacks were running 14.5 14.6.
I had a long look at both cars but decided on the ralliart for the tc-sst, and i love it.

Sorry Malik but i had an 03 Lancer and the interior in your Evo is no better. You prolly don't like the X either.
OP: It depends how you see things. Keep in mind though jus because it doesn't have clutch pedal doesn't mean its an automatic. Technically and essentially it is a manual transmission for the simple fact that it operates through clutches and not a torque converter like an automatic transmission would. Do not be fooled. I see where you are coming from thought and if you really want to feel connected and that you are in total control then the SST isn't for you. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't test drive it either, you might end up liking it, trust me there are a lot of ppl who had the same mind set as you including myself and ended up buying one or an MR. You cannot knock it if you don't try it. With the RA though you do get a bit more safety features and technology (FAST key, bluetooth, battery saver, etc.) standard and not to mention the AWD from the IX which is why there is almost a 3k difference. The RA runs 14.0-14.5 in the 1/4 depending on driver, far from slow and with a flash your will be in the mid to high 13's. I will say this though mid 12's are achievable with bolt ons, X or FP Red turbo and a tune but that would be pushing the stock clutch packs, if you want more then you will have to upgrade them.
As for the WRX if you want more performance and absolutely must have a manual tranny then that is the car to buy, i will say drive it as well, I wasn't blown away by it and the interior isn't light years ahead of the RA in any way. Its fast for what it is and you can't go wrong if you need that performance up front. But from a family car and comfort stand point the RA would probably be the better choice. The transmission makes city driving tolerable and you can still have fun with it believe it or not.
Also have you looked at the Cobalt SS and the Speed 3? Those cars are pretty good for the price.

The difference in price is based on the transmission; in the ralliart you are getting a hight technology transmission and the WRX is just a old school transmission, in a couple of years from now almost every car will have sequential tranny; WRX has better interior plastic than Ralliart for sure and reliability of the transmission in the long term is about to figure out; nonetheless mitsu ralliart tranny comes from Germany, just buy a entended warranty bumper to bumper to 5 years/100.000 miles.
You can find a 2010 ralliart for less of $28K OTD in NYC

I've actually been in considerations for some time regarding a daily driver. For now, I've decided to go with a 2010 GTI - gorgeous interior, 6speed, great motor etc. FWD doesn't bother me for daily driver. AWD only helps to accelerate in the snow - doesn't help turning or stopping, a big misconception about awd.

+1 there are still alot of left over 08 evo x's all over...... and they go for like 30k and i am sure there are great financing deals on a 08 evo x
I am not a fan of the WRX Hatch..I personally think it is ugly unless it is the STI. I also don't really want to get the same car as my roomate since we work together too.
I never expected a Mitshu forum to overwhelmingly pick the WRX.
The only mods I would do to either car is Intake and maybe exhuast.

The reason you're getting a lot of bias towards WRX here is because they are Evo owners and bias toward conventional manual. Where are the modded RA owners? Like i said though if a manual is what you want then the WRX is what u need to buy out of the two.
But make sure you drive both before you make your decision. And if intake and exhaust is what you only really planning on doing then the Ralliart is more than capable of putting down good power. The intake will require a tune. I do agree maybe you should look at some left over 08 X's for a good deal.
