Rearview camera for Sportback

Has anyone installed the Mitsubishi rearview camera on the Lancer Sportback? Does Mitsubishi have a specific kit for the sportback, or will the sedan's kit fit? Thanks.

I heard today that a rearview camera is available for the Sportback. Has anyone seen it? I'm curious where the camera is located and if it seems as out of place as it does on the sedan. Thanks.

I haven't had any success yet, but I know the part exists because there's a specific cutout in the sheetmetal where that photo shows the camera is mounted. I also see it in this picture

and saw it listed as an accessory on the Canadian website for a few months before it got removed from the list. I'm guessing the sedan's camera might work, perhaps with a different or extra mount, but the wiring harness would be a different length.

I found the slot it's suppose to be in. I wonder if the Outlander Sport Rear-view will fit the Sportback (both the ES/GTS and RA)

If it fits, all I have to buy is the camera and harness and route the wiring through liftgate since has a existing route for the taillights.

Hi Razorlab,
Thanks for the p/n's. Are you sure those are the ones for the Sportback? I believe the camera is different (due to the different mounting) between Sportback and sedan, and I expect the harness to be slightly different too, if only just in length. Thanks.

I see that the 2012 Lancer Sportback can now come with the rearview camera from the factory. Anyone know if the p/n is the same as that in the Japanese accessory catalog? Thanks.

The camera and harness is the same as the Outlander. Mitsubishi confirmed that the part number for the Outlander is the same one used for the 2012 Sportback since it uses a tailgate setup...

HOWEVER, DO NOT mistake the part number for the sedan camera....that camera is design to be flush to the trunk. The Outlander's camera is design to be on the tailgate trim and the Sportback is the same design opening.

I will be installing it in the next couple of week. Just ordered the harness, will have the camera a couple of weeks later after payday.

Great, thanks for the info. I'd be interested to hear how the install goes for you. I'm curious as to what the recommended wire routing is and if the harness length is perfect for our car too, or if there's extra length that'd need to be coiled up somewhere.
