launch
only on the street. apparently at the track it's back down to 237 for some reason... economy mode maybe?
listen, just because the car was street tuned, doesnt mean it behaves differently than it would on the track. the car needs to put the power to the wheels and make it go across the ground; unless of course you have found some way of making it hover over city streets. no matter where or how you tune, the car will drive the same.
and to clarify on topic, you want torque for the launch, not horsepower.

ok let me explain to u since sum of these ppl have no clue put the car in sport mode first u will see a better launch out of the car ...then hold the brake to about 3000 rpm then let off brake and slam the gas best shifting wise would be ur paddles ..they shift faster the the shifter........trust me i know iver raced everything u can throw at me even sti ..and i still walk on them but remember u cant hold the rpm to long cause ur light will come on for you trans overheat and it will lock it so u cant build the power back up ......trust me i know all about this car
Do a little research before you post misinformation on the boards.
Also, references to street racing an anything of the sort will not be tolerated on this site. It is illegal, dangerous and very stupid. If i see it again i am issuing points.
This thread is for information on launching techniques at legal tracks.
If you don't have anything useful to say then do not post.
Thank you
Take it easy on the gal. I think she just came out wrong.
Most of the stuff she typed was not far off but the attitude of the typing were
Hold the breaks, rev to ~3000 and then let go. We want some tire squeal but not much at all, just so that we have got to the limit of the tires grip.
It will be different depending on your power, the surface, tire pressure and the tires you are on etc.
Really have to experience and feel it for yourself and as always, practice.
I use the shifter cause I'm used to manual before this car and imo it feels more rallyish. I do use the paddles on occasions, but mostly only when cornering hard.

and as far as wearing clutches, the benefit of our wet clutch system, as in a motorbike like you mention and many of us have discussed in the past, is the fact that the viscous clutch system allows for cooling of the friction material minimizing overall wear relative to a standard clutch system and vastly increasing the longevity of the clutch discs. when i first learned to ride a motorcycle, i rode the clutch out all day long on the same bike for an entire summer. 3 years later it's still shifting like a champion on the same clutch homeboy

edit:read some of his other posts just now doing the same thing calling people wrong on stuff. for example: in one he said"the ralliart and evo engine are not the same".....na they are both just the 4b11t just different

Why is it that every time people have great factoids like that I need to read the post six times to understand them? I mean, I don't usually complain about grammar or spelling or punctuation, but that string of random words was almost painful to read.
So from what I gather, apparently, we're all wrong about how we launch, and we all need to go out and get MR tcus, (which, of course, because it's a stock system, it doesn't wear the clutch. Must be that magical pixie dust anti-wear system that Mitsu has been using).
On second thought, maybe he meant that I need to skip eating lunch because it wears my clutch. Do people who own motorcycles wear out their clutches best while doing lunch? I'm confused.

i know you're probably just reacting to the comments that guy made, but for trivia purposes, motorcycle clutches hardly ever wear, unless you're up against a wall doing burnouts all day
hey guys sorry for coming off like a b*tch im really not just came out wrong ....but would always love to learn more im not stuck up in anyway ..i just my mitsu my bad for sounding like u guys had no clue what your talking about cause im sure you do ...
