I think this has been discussed in numerous threads. One method is to use a pumping motion with the foot just before launch to around 3k and then let go the brakes and pretty much floor it.

Tap the gas till it reaches 3,500 - 4,000 rpm and then go WOT! Dont press on the brakes when you do it, just tap the gas multiple times till you reach the desired rpm.

For me that is the safest route to take.

You don't have to hold the brakes?? If not... this definitely sounds like the best method. What track times did you get using your method?

safest? brake boosting is 1000% better and poses no risk either.

Westbound&down: In my book, from a complete stop, tapping the gas till you reach your desired rpm and then going WOT is better for your tranny. What you do with yours is your thing.

captobvious75: Yeah! No need to hold the brakes, when your completely stopped just tap the gas quickly till desired rpm and then go WOT!! I did not track my car yet Soon, very soon

?? You must have a magical foot because my RA accelerates when I tap the gas from a stop with no brakes. Am I missing something here?

well perhaps you should look into the mechanics of a transmission then, so we can be on the same or similar pages. "Tapping" the gas until you reach xxxx rpms does nothing but pre rev the engine, saving you next to no time. Its a placebo effect.

And like razor, im curious how you tap the gas and go no where without your foot on the brake?!

neutral dump?

Not a neutral dump Tap your gas rapidly when stopped, when your rpm goes up to where you want it, just go wot!
Its almost like a standard tranny, you pre rev it just like you had your foot on the clutch, but you cant hold the rpm, and then you go wot.
