Thanks for the update. If possible, do some measurements before and after installation, to verify the need for a tune. I'm sure it's an important factor for potential buyers.

^ Very imortant. From the looks of it - i don't see how it flows significantly more than stock w/ drop in K&N...

+1

The AEM intake for the x actually ups the boost a bit IIRC in addition to leaning it out, so those are important things to know as a lot of folks who may be interested are also running GST's basemap...

The Intake is still under development.
I was told it would take about 2 months to finalize. They are putting a lot of time into this one to make sure it comes out perfect.
Once the intake is done they will slap it on my car and get some numbers.
Hopefully by the beginning of April I will have the Intake

yea AEM is LAME like that..... i have been dealing with them since i got my RA... back in 2009 they promise a bunch of BS and never came through.... and now that they are doing... they say oh sorry we already have a RA for test fit... we found one already.... bunch of BS............ worst part is ..... it a stock intake...... box will be in the same area... with a similar snorkel... in the end a stock intake with a AEM fitter..... ??

we will see what this ends up like.... but all i can say..... there R&D team cant keep there words....

I cant see how this would perform any better than the stock intake with a drop in, but I'll wait and see, hopefully they can prove me wrong

Very similar situation to them promising an intake for the Mk5 GTI, after waiting for months, they finally came out and said they had scrapped the idea months ago!

I'll remain hopeful, however....

Perfect timing.
I actually just got an Email from AEM yesterday.
I will be dropping the car off this Monday coming up. If everything goes well the intake will be ready by next Friday!
